Generally speaking there are three types of dispositions of adult criminal matters in Canada. 1.Criminal convictions, includes: Custodial sentence ( Jail time) Intermittent sentence ( weekend jail) Suspended sentence ( jail time suspended) Conditional sentence ( jail time in the community, house arrest) Fine or forfeiture ( no jail) 2. Non-conviction with finding of guilt, includes: Absolute discharge ( without probation) Conditional discharge ( with probation / with conditions) 3.
