This year, Alanna and Grace came up with a fabulous (but dirty) idea to raise money for the Canadian Legacy Project. Please watch it if you dare! We are already looking for new victims for next year. Any parents interested? We would like to exceed this years’ donation of $300. For more information about the cause please click here https://www.canadianlegacy.org. (Music: https://www.bensound.com)
In the wake of Remembrance Day, we would like to link to YouTube to invite you to listen to Leonard Cohen's "In Flanders Fields". https://youtu.be/cKoJvHcMLfc
Banbury’s Art Project with Grade 2-6: Mandala Dot Painting on Rocks Mandala means loosely circle or completion in Sanskrit (in the classical language of South Asia). The mandala appears in all aspects of life describing all existing cycles. It’s used as a therapy tool to relax the overworked mind to release stress. These days rock painting is so in! All you need is Acrylic paint and some dotting tools. Our students enjoyed it a lot! ... -> If you are interested. here is a nice YouTube tutorial on how it's done: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pejqo_iQhCk&feature+emp_logo
Hallowe'en at Banbury! ~ nothing beats a day of fun at school! (music: https://www.bensound.com/royalty-free-music)
Dear Banbury Families, Thank you for your participation! On September 30, we showed our support by wearing an orange shirt for the Indigenous children who once were taken away to residential schools.
Banbury is going strong into the second week of school! The Banbury-COVID-Style How does it look? It’s social distancing at its finest!... 1. Temperatures and screening questionnaires are taken right at the entrance every day 2. Students enter and leave the school in the morning and in the afternoon at staggered times to avoid close contact 3. Our cozy couches (just stored away will be back eventually) have been replaced with new and easy to sanitize furniture 4. Students are spread out in the classrooms, hallways, and are encouraged to keep their mask on when not seated 5. We sanitize all door handles, tables, and other frequently touched surfaces every hour 6. We enforce a stay-at-home-policy for teachers and students with COVID like symptoms until the test comes back negative (24hrs test) 7. Our entrance door is always locked 8. We also offer online learning
Banbury's Terry Fox Run 2020: A perfect day in fall! The sun was shining, and the team spirit lifted our legs to a combined 105km! AND... we raised $1,300 for cancer research (an increase of $400.00 from last year)! Thank you all so very much! ~ A big Thank-You goes out to several moms who made the event even more special by donating cookies, drinks, fruits, coffee, and medals!
