Last but not least our newest addition who has been with us for over a year now, and she always has the biggest smile. Please meet: Dr. Lindsay Gallowitz I am very exited to be providing eye care in Barrie, my new home since moving from my childhood town of Richmond Hill. Since high school, Optometry has always appealed to me as a great way to meet so many friendly people while also allowing me to have direct patient care for one of our most important senses, our vision. ... I received my Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Guelph, before completing my Doctor of Optometry with honours at the University of Waterloo. I have great interest in ocular disease management and bringing awareness to eyes being more than just 20/20 vision. I also have completed clinical rotations in pediatrics and contact lenses. In my spare time, I love reading a good book or hitting the ski slopes in the winter, and I am always open to any suggestions for exploring Barrie with my husband! I'm looking forward to keeping your eyes healthy and seeing their best! #Icareforyoureyes #optometrist #diabeticoptometrist

Up next for our "Meet our Doctors" is Dr. Ryan Bowser I graduated from the University of Waterloo with Honours, earning my Bachelor in Health Science. From there I traveled to Portland to study at Pacific University, obtaining my Doctorate of Optometry with special interests in vision therapy and therapeutic treatment of ocular disease.... Having grown up in Barrie, I knew I wanted to bring my services back to my community. In 2009 I began practicing Optometry at Barrie Vision Centre, the same office I had trusted my own eyecare to throughout my own life. I believe in helping patients, having fun doing it and pursuing life passions along the way. Outside of the office you'll fine me working up a sweat riding my mountain bike, trail running or finding new places to explore with my wife Susie and two amazing children #wecareforyoureyes #bookwithme #optometrist

With the way the year as been going we thought it was time to re-introduce our doctors here at the office. Thought we would first start off with: Dr. Kim Lalonde My first experience with the world of optometry was when I was 12 years old, and could no longer see the board at school. It was during my undergraduate studies that I decided to pursue optometry as a career. I graduated from the Université de Montréal’s School of Optometry in 1999. After a few years in Windsor, m...y family and I moved to the Barrie area in 2004. That is when I joined the Barrie Vision Centre team. Practicing Optometry is a great combination of art and science. But in some cases, getting patients to see 20/20 just didn’t seem to resolve all of their issues. Thus began my path with Vision Therapy. I now enjoy the challenges of working with learning related visual issues, fixing lazy eyes, and helping concussion patients get back some sense of normalcy. That is the awesome thing about my field-there is always something new to learn! In my downtime, I enjoy reading a good book, taking my dog for a walk, playing a game of cards, or hanging with my husband and 2 daughters. I am fluently bilingual, and offer services in both French and English #wecareforyoureyes #developmentaloptometry #bookwithme

Here at Barrie Vision Centre we offer a wide range of services, alternative testing and eye strengthening programs. We have the opportunity to provide Vision Therapy to any of our patients who may have had concussions (general or motor vehicle), students with reading/learning disabilities, or for patients who have eye turns and many other symptoms. This form of treatment is provided in a designated office space after Dr. Kim Lalonde has completed her assessment. We have two t...rained Vision Therapists on site who bring with them their knowledge, patience, and clinical practices to be able to assist those who are in need. If you would like to see what the Vision Therapy clinic gets up to during their days please follow them on instagram @barrievisiontherapy where they will be posting photos of actual patients (with their consent of course) and you can get a look through their eyes of how they help patients each and every week. We hope you grow to love our therapists like we do. Please meet Leah & Kas
