I'm mindful of the history of this appointment, knowing this is the first time an American president has ever sent an openly LGBTQ cabinet appointee to the Senate for confirmation.

In sad news, James Randi passed away today at 92. Such an amazing human. An openly gay man and proud of it. He was a staunch advocate for truth and science. He started his career as a magician, but quickly learned how easy, and wrong, it was to trick people into believing falsehoods. Instead, he worked his whole life to find truth and expose the charlatans who used trickery for nefarious means. He is perhaps best well known for helping Penn & Teller start their act, telling t...hem it was important to explain and educate. He wanted people smarter, not just fooled and taken advantage of. James Randi spent a lifetime always teaching the truth. Rest well my friend.
