Swimming Lesson Schedule! Hello Again Swimmers, Here is the 2020 Barrier Lake Swim Schedule for July 15-19. There will be 2 separate Sea Otter groups due to high demand, so please be sure to attend the correct time slot. Normally I would have a sand castle competition on Sunday afternoon instead of lessons, but due to Covid19 restrictions this can not happen. The 2nd lesson of the day on Sunday will be cancelled and I will hand out everyone’s report cards at 2pm on the beach...! Level 9/10: 8-9 am & 5:45-6:45 Level 7/8: 9-9:45am & 5:00-5:45 Level 5/6: 9:45- 10:15 & 4:30 5:00 Level 3/4: 10:15-10:45 & 4-4:30 Level 2: 10:45-11:15 & 3:30-4 Level 1: 11:15 - 11:45 & 3-3:30 Salamander: 11:45 12:15 & 2:30-3 Sea Otter Group 1: 12:15 12:45 & 1:30 2:00 Sea Otter Group 2: 12:45 1:15 & 2 2:30 Sea Otter Group 1: Beth I. A NOTE FROM MATTEA Hello all Barrier Lake Swimmers, This year there have been difficult waters to tread in regard to swimming lessons due to covid19.... However, I finally have some good news. The government of Saskatchewan Covid Business Support Centre has approved lessons at Barrier lake & after consulting with the Canadian Red Cross regarding swim safety during this time swimming lessons are now possible. Swimming lessons will be from Wednesday, July 15th to Sunday, July 19th. Two lessons each day. I will be offering all levels except for parent and tot! For preschool levels to level 1 a parent/guardian is required along with each child in order to assist in proper social distancing. The higher levels will remain the same, but with added physical distancing required. Preschool to level 3 > $55 Level 4 - 6 > $60 Level 7 - 10 > $65 Report card > $5 You can etransfer me at 1-306-852-9222. I will text you once to confirm I received your etransfer. It’s first come, first serve, if I am not paid for lessons by the end of this week, I will bump up children on the waiting list! If you have not registered and would like too, there is still room in some of the higher levels and Salamander (passed Sea Otter). Well tomorrow May 15 th is the big opening day for the season. A few changes have been made to keep everyone safe during this time. The store will be open 9-9 daily. The water is also on and should be good as long as it doesn’t freeze overnight. Keeping our fingers crossed.

So the ice finally disappeared this morning, but now it want to snow.

RE: SWIMMING LESSONS-a message from Mattea Hello Barrier swimmers, I am sure many people are curious about lessons this summer at Barrier Beach due to Covid-19. Sadly I don’t have all the answers at this time but, hopefully these updates will help! As of right now, lessons will continue as planned the week of July 15th-19th. There is still room to register your child in most levels! However, the original plan to etransfer by May 1st will be abolished as I would prefer... to not have to refund everyone in a months time in case lessons are not an option. By July 1st at the latest (hopefully sooner) it should be clear whether precautions for Covid-19 have allowed us to start regular things like swimming lessons back up again or not. If so, I will accept an etransfer at that date or if not, will reluctantly have to cancel lessons. Stay safe & hopefully we get to see everyone this summer at the lake. SWIMMING LESSONS 2020 Hi, my name is Mattea Becker. I have taught lessons at Barrier Beach the past couple of years. I look forward to instructing lessons once again. This year I will only be offering 1 week of lessons instead of 2. This is due to my other work commitments & the classes not being as full last year. Another change this year will be payment. Instead of paying with cash on the first day, this year I will require an etransfer to hold your child’s spot. This p...ayment will be due on May 1st. If it is not paid by then, I will move up someone from the waiting list. This is to help limit last minute cancellations and to fill up all the levels. The lessons will run from Wednesday July 15th to Sunday July 19th again this year, with 2 lessons per day. Every level will be offered (from Parent & Tot up to Level 10). The afternoon lesson on the Sunday will be a sand castle competition and report card hand out will be at 2 pm on the beach for all the swimmers. I understand many people will be beginning to plan holidays at the lake so I will be taking registrations starting now.
