We are super stoked to announce that Basecamp will be entering our Phase 2 of Re-opening on August 11th. This means extended hours and increased capacity, while still maintaining increased sanitation schedules, continuing to enforce mask usage and using a booking system to limit the amount of climbers in the gym. It seems surreal to announce this, but the climbing walls for Basecamp Queen West have been fully installed! Every panel has been lovingly secured in place by the hands of our dedicated team of staff, bringing us even closer to being a fully functioning bouldering and training facility. This marks a huge milestone in the process and would not have been possible without the tireless work of our team lead by Matt Languay. A huge thank you to Laura Smith, Sefton Jackson, Darcy I...bson and Jake Tiger. These folks have truly been burning the candle at both ends, learning on the fly and helping to collaborate on a truly impressive build. All of this was carefully masterminded in proxy by the amazing Team at Onsite Climbing. Thank you for your guidance and trust. Now that the walls are built we can start to focus on the final stages of the project: final facility touches, floor installation, bouldering mat installation and everyone's favourite part....ROUTE SETTING! This also gives us more of a solid timeline for the finish of the build and by the end of this month we will have a much better idea of when we can welcome you all into the space. Our timeline and opening decisions will be carefully measured against the community guidelines and recommendations for indoor recreation spaces.
