It's #TeamTuesday! Today, we'd like to introduce you to Teresa, Site Clerk here at Bassi. Teresa began her journey in the construction industry in 2015, working for her father's company. Over the years, her passion for the field grew and she joined our team in 2019, beginning in a part-time position with our accounting department. Since late 2020, she's been working with us full-time as a Site Clerk at 192 Bronson (which recently received full occupancy!). Outside of work, Teresa loves to golf in the summer, and come winter she switches to curling. Project Spotlight | Smoke Remediation #TeamBassi is working on a smoke remediation project at a high school in Smiths Falls. The high school is being prepped for the reconstruction phase after a roof fire damaged all the interior finishes of the building. Colin Ross, VP of Restoration here at Bassi Construction, takes us through the scope of work for a balcony restoration project at one of Osgoode Properties Ltd.'s buildings in Ottawa. It’s time to meet some of the women from Bassi Construction and were kicking things off by introducing you to Lonnie! - Lonnie started her career in the industry at a young age, doing landscaping and snow removal. She joined #TeamBassi as a Project Coordinator in 2015 and was promoted to Project Manager in 2019 while finishing up a new build on Queen Elizabeth Drive. Project Update | Demolition of the existing Ottawa Construction Association building, located at 192 Bronson Avenue, commenced in late autumn 2018 to make way for a 20-storey residential building, with two levels of underground parking. Once complete, the building will consist of 251 rental apartments, 84 parking spaces, as well as retail at the ground floor level, for a total of 250,000 square feet. - The reinforced cast-in-place concrete structure will be founded on sprea...d footings on bedrock. The building will be cladded with a mix of masonry at the lower levels and glazing/window wall with aluminum panels at the upper levels.
