Oh how the tables have turned

Bayview Mall Veterinary Clinic 06.11.2020

To have a break from COVID-19 let's have a TICK talk Our friend, THE TICK, is out and about now and loving this weather. Give us a call at the clinic and/or email us at [email protected] To ask us about flea/ tick prevention. This little guy was found stumbling around inside a house in BOWMANVILLE after biting a dog that WAS on prevention. No harm done because the dog was protected. The tick had his "last meal" then died. (note this tick is NOT engorged) If you find a tic...k on your pet, or in your house DO NOT PANIC. See the following steps. 1- Call us if the tick is engorged and attached to your pet so we can guide you on what to do next. 2- If the tick is found on your pet, or in your house like this, put gloves on and place him in a SEALED container or Ziploc bag. Then call us OR email us with pictures. WE ARE HERE TO HELP. See more

UPDATE: PLEASE NOTE OUR NEW CLINIC HOURS: MONDAY TO FRIDAY 9am -6pm, SATURDAY 9am to 2pm.... Grooming is cancelled until further notice. Due to Covid-19, we have been making some changes to provide the most protection we can to our valued clients and staff during this very critical time. With this in mind we will remain OPEN.BUT we have put into effect a closed door policy to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. This means we will continue to provide parking lot triage as well as prioritizing emergency calls and "sick" visits. Please call us, from your car, when you arrive for your appointment or if you are coming to pick up food or medications. Be sure to remain in your car for further direction. Please also note our supplier is limiting quantities of food and medications we can refill. You can visit our online store at myvetstore.ca to have your food shipped directly to your home. We understand that this is a very frustrating and scary time for everyone. Our staff is doing the absolute best they can to get to all your phone calls everyday, but due to these unprecedented times and extremely high volume of calls, you may experiences difficultly getting through on your first try. We ask you to call us back (until you are able to speak to someone) or email us at [email protected] and we will ensure to respond to you as soon as we possibly can. We very much appreciate your patience and understanding. If you are trying to contact us outside of our business hours please try calling TVEH at 416-247-8387, CTVRC at 416-784-4444 or VEC at 416-920-2002. Everyone please ensure to practice social distancing and stay safe. We will all get through this together.

Due to covid-19, we are prioritizing emergency phone calls and and "sick" visits for our clients and patients. Dr. Burnett and our RVT, Rebecca made an excellent dog Nail trim video many years ago. If you are interested in learning how to trim your dogs nails at home, this video will provide you with the tools you need to do so successfully. NOTE: Cat nail trims follow the same "safety" guidelines when it comes to avoiding the kwik. Also let us know what other videos you would find helpful at this time, so you can confidently provide care for your pets at home during this difficult time. https://youtu.be/tMinL4zCDrY

UPDATE : Ontario Premier Doug Ford has announced today that there will be a shutdown of all non-essential services as of Tuesday March 24, 11:59pm - Midnight, and will be in place for at least 14 days. At this time, we have been in contact with the College of Veterinarians of Ontario and they have told us that tomorrow the government will be listing which establishments will be considered essential services, and thus allowed to stay open. We will continue to be open until further notified by the government. We will do our best to continue to keep you informed of any further changes. Thank you for your patience in these challenging times.
