GOVERNMENT'S PLAN FOR REFORMING REGULATORY REFORM The Ministry of Health shared updates to the multi-party steering committee's plans to modernize the framework for health profession regulation. The initial proposal was shared for public consultation in November 2019. The updated framework reflects feedback that the committee has since received from regulators, including BCCNP and the College of Midwives of BC (CMBC), health professionals, associations, educators, health auth...orities, Indigenous partners, unions, and the public. We welcome the recommendations made in the updated report. We are encouraged that Minister Dix and the steering committee have continued to advance this work despite the ongoing demands of the pandemic, as it highlights the role of the regulator as an agile partner in healthcare one that enables and supports health professionals to deliver safe and ethical care.
