Tonight, the night before general voting, I wanted to share my thoughts with you as you make your final decision before casting your vote Saturday Oct 24th: In Fort St John, I have been your City Councillor for 12+ years. Running at the age of 28 because I was driven to make a difference; and here I am at 41 doing it for the same reason, but on a much larger scale to represent this region. I have always ensured I was engaged on social media as much as possible to provide det...ailed information on what was happening, and so people could ensure they were involved. This will never change. I pride myself in being able to answer questions when you see me grocery shopping, or at one of my businesses, or even when I’m outside in the front yard mowing, or shovelling. This will never change. I am not perfect. And no matter how hard I strive to be, I have made mistakes along the way and learned from them. I don’t always say what people want to hear, I am real, unscripted and speak from my heart, and always listen. This will never change. I will always, without question, represent and advocate for the communities I serve, the businesses in them, and the people that make them an amazing place to raise their families. I will always listen to your needs, concerns and ensure that together, we can find a way to get them addressed. I will remain active on community social media pages so that you can tag me, blame me, ask for advice from me, and always share your opinions on items that matter to you. I cannot be bought by companies, special interest groups, or anyone else; nor can my opinions or votes be owned by anyone other then me representing my communities. I have never and will never make promises I cannot keep just to get your vote. I will not stand apart from you as we go into battle, but beside you as we battle as one. Today I am grateful to have voted in our Provincial Election. Huge thanks to all the volunteers and elections staff who make it possible for us to use our votes as our voice. This has been an amazing process to be involved in and thank you for all your support, ideas and for being involved.

According to data from Elections B.C., Peace River North saw 5,848 voters, while the South Peace saw 3,265; both significantly higher when compared to the 2017 turnout of 4,253 in the North and 2,514 in the South.

I am honoured this morning receiving the Best City Councillor award from The Alaska Highway News Best of the Best 2020 People’s Choice Awards. Thank you for all those who voted, and congrats to all the other winners in their categories. I always encourage people to get involved with local government, as change comes from boots on the ground and it’s people that make a difference in our communities. #Local #PeopleFirst #communities

I would encourage everyone to get out and vote and be active in the communities and regions that we all call home, and build together. This election is about what’s best for you and your region, and who you want representing you.
