Just a few pointers for those starting on Wednesday: The Township waiver should be filled out today (Tuesday) so that it can be processed before starting tomorrow. You can find it here https://forms.townshipofbrock.ca/Waiver The BSC online daily screening needs to be done before EVERY session, and can be filled out by lunch time, or up to an hour before sessions begin. Both the skater AND the spectator need to fill this out for tracking purposes. If these are not filled out, you will NOT be permitted inside the arena. You can find our waiver here: https://docs.google.com//1FAIpQLScDBnbHeuyFQAo51B/viewform **Please note spectators are not permitted to stay in the lobby, but must sit in the ‘cold’ section of the arena, so please dress accordingly**

URGENT: Please see below the upcoming agenda for the Special Council Meeting Friday at 3:00 p.m. Staff are recommending that the Foster Hewitt Memorial Communi...ty Center remain closed for the 2020/21 season. I received this report the same time as the public, so I have many questions I will be asking staff, before the meeting. My ask is that everybody read the report and provide your thoughts to [email protected]. There would be additional costs to open all three. Please send the emails, as only the user groups were consulted and not the general public. It is extremely important that we hear public input. I am sorry we only have two days to hear this input.https://www.townshipofbrock.ca//september-11th-special-cou See more

The Marilyn Dawson award is in loving memory of a former members grandmother, that was always at the rink and loved to watch and help where ever needed. Each year this award is given to the most involved skating family, and this year the award goes to the Beck Family! The Beck family is almost a fixture at the club - Madison and Paige skate, Madison is a PA, and you can always find Sarah or Mike (and sometimes both of them!) at the arena. You can always count on them to lend a hand with any task that needs doing, be it competition registration, costumes or ice show. Thank you to the Beck Family for all you do :)

Madison is a senior skater at the star 2 level and Canskate PA. Madison comes to skating with a positive attitude and incredible work ethic. She sets a great example of sportsmanship by always encouraging her teammates at practice and competition. Well done Madison!

The Top Competitor award goes to Ivy! Ivy has been a busy skater this season, skating in Beaverton and Sunderland Clubs as well as skating with the Kawartha Competition Team. Ivy competed in 7 competitions, which saw her compete in freeskate as well as elements events. It was her score from the Brampton Flower City Invitational that qualifed her for the Skate Ontario Provincial Championships that was to take place March 26-29th. Ivy also passed 5 tests this year and was a Canskate Coach. Busy girl! We can't wait to see her shine next season!

Beaverton Skating Club 31.05.2020

The test stream skater award goes to Jenna! Jenna has been working very hard this year, skating and competing with both BSC and her synchro team the Georgina Ice-Ations. We have seen a huge improvement in Jenna’s Skating this year! Jenna passed 6 tests this year - star 2 skills, star 2 elements, star 2 Freeskate, baby blues, star 3 skills and star 3b dance.... Congratulations Jenna, hard work pays off!

Beaverton Skating Club 19.05.2020

The Star 4 award goes to Julia! Persistence is the perfect word to describe Julia's success. The Axel is one of the hardest jumps to conquer in a skaters repertoire and conquer she did! Not only did she successfully land her first axel this season, she then went on to land it in competition, and by the end of the season, master it. This competition season we saw Julia on the podium many times, but more importantly, Julia's Coaches saw a new found confidence. Julia competed in ...4 competitions, and passed 3 tests. She was also a valued PA this season. We can't wait to see what will be in store for her next season!

Beaverton Skating Club 12.05.2020

The star 3 award goes to Mira! Mira has had huge improvements this year! Her single most amazing feat was probably the day she first tried an axel in harness and then just minutes later landed 2 off harness! (see our Instagram page for video - amazing!) Mira competed in 4 competitions this year and passed 4 tests.... We cant wait to see what next season brings for Mira!

Beaverton Skating Club 04.05.2020

Star 2 award goes to Martie! Martie always came to her lessons with a good attitude and willingness to learn. She set her own goals for the season and she diligently worked each session to improve. The Coaches admire her perseverance and determination in learning new and difficult skills. Martie competed in freeskate, elements and showcase catagories in 4 competitions this year, and passed her star 2 skills test. She was also a valued PA... Martie wins 2 awards this year as she was also voted "Most improved" this year! Great work Martie!

Volunteers are the backbone of Beaverton Skating Club. It takes many hours of planning to make the season a success, especially our year end ice show! The Board members are volunteers, and each family is also required to volunteer a certain number of hours each season. There is always someone that stands out and goes above and beyond their requirements. For this reason we have a Volunteer of the Year award! We would like to recognize Julie Kelsey! Julie is a busy Mom to three... busy kids, and is a big part of the family business, Kelsey's Plumbing. She is very dedicated and puts 100% into everything. She was first to volunteer in helping with the ice show, doing all the work behind the scenes and not asking for anything in return. The ice show was, and is, a huge job to take on and she stepped up! Julie's effort and team work stands out and we all appreciate her endless work! To Julie THANK YOU! See more

The Hayes Spirit Award is in loving memory or Alexandria and Makaela Hayes, whos lives were tragically taken in a car accident in 2011. These 2 girls were a part of our club and had a love and passion for skating. This award is awarded to 2 skaters each year that also have a love and passion for skating, and keep the spirit of Alexandria and Makaela alive. This years winners are Georgia M. and Kaylee M. Georgia has been a go getter this skating season. Every time she stepped... on the ice she was excited and happy to be there with everyone. Her skating improved so much and she is always willing to try new skills and improve where she can. Kaylee Has gained a lot of confidence this year. As skills have gotten more challenging, Kaylee has worked hard to try her best, resulting in the execution of skills such as waltz jumps and cross cuts. Her attitude toward the sport shines through to everyone around her. Congratulations Ladies!

Beaverton Skating Club 27.03.2020

And now for the Canskater of the year award, and the winner is Eve K! Eve is currently working on completing stage 2. She has been a real go getter this year, has a great attitude and always has a smile on her face! She loves being on the ice! Congratulations Eve!
