As a small business, the most uncertain time is when you first open those doors. You put in months (sometimes years) of work and it all comes down to that opening day. Will anyone even show up? Is this going to work out? Will people like it? Once you get going and you start to experience some sort of consistency and confidence in what you've built, you begin to breathe again. Then COVID19 hit in March and since then, small businesses have been reliving that uncertainty every ...single day. Every business has been hit with it's own unique challenges and have had to change how they do business with no end in sight. It feels like starting from day one over and over again. For us, this has meant switching from walk-in service to exclusively one day advance orders for pickup and local delivery. It would be irresponsible for us to continue business as usual knowing that our business attracts line ups of 50+ people on our busiest days. Preorders are the safest way for us to control the crowds and greatly reduce wait times. As we start to enter the colder months, it is only going to get harder. With this in mind, please be patient with your local small businesses and respect how they have chosen to safely operate during these weird times. We've been getting the question "When will you be open for walk-ins again?" quite a lot. Due to COVID19 and social distancing measures, we will not be opening our storefront to walk-ins for the foreseeable future. Our lobby is very narrow making it near impossible to enforce 6ft physical distance between everyone. Pair that with notoriously long lineups (on Saturdays often 30+ people deep!) and you begin to have issues of overcrowding and lack of distance outside on the sidew...alk. We want to make sure coming to our store is as safe as possible for everyone. As a result, we have decided to continue serving the public via 1 day advance orders (which can be placed on our website). This allows us to have full control over how many people visit our store at any given time through the use of pickup time slots and provides more space for our staff to distance inside the store.
