L'incendie a été rapidement maîtrisé, mais le bâtiment été très endommagé. Personne ne se trouvait dans le restaurant au moment de l'incendie. Il s'agirait d'un incendie suspect. La GRC et le bureau du prévôt des incendies poursuivent leur enquête. Quiconque a de l'information à cet égard est prié de communiquer avec la GRC au 506-533-5151 ou, anonymement, avec Échec au crime (1-800-222-8477 ou www.crimenb.ca). - - - - - The Southeast District RCMP is seeking information from the public about a suspicious fire that occurred in Cap-Pelé NB. Around 8 a.m., on May 5, 2019, members from the Shediac detachment of the RCMP, along with the Cap-Pelé Fire Department responded to numerous calls for service at the Bel Air Take-Out on Acadie Road. The fire was extinguished quickly but the building sustained significant damage. No one was inside at the time of the fire. The fire has been determined to be suspicious. The RCMP and the New Brunswick Fire Marshal's Office are continuing the investigation. Anyone with information about this fire is asked to contact the Shediac RCMP at 506-533-5151. Information can also be provided anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or at www.crimenb.ca

We're still working on our renovations. In removing the floors, we found asbestos. So the renovations are taking longer than we wanted. We still plan on reopening this summer. Just not 100% sure when. We think it will be late September. Sorry to all those clam lovers and Belair lovers.

To all our customers in Cap Pele and elsewhere: It is true, we had another fire at the Belair restaurant today. It caused very little incremental damage to the building. It was another case of arson! We are still in rebuilding mode and we only lost a day of cleaning. ... This doesn't delay our planned reopening. We still hope to be open before the end of June. In all of this drama, it saddens us to know that someone would risk innocent lives to try to burn down a restaurant. If you know anything, please help the RCMP stop this foolishness from continuing before someone gets really hurt...

Mother's Day next weekend / La fête des mères la semaine prochaine...

We are open. There was a lot of confusion when we closed on Easter Monday. We took a day off to regroup and we went back to frying clams a day later. The great news is that some of the employees (5 to be exact) have agreed to come back. Thanks to everyone for their words of encouragement and support.
