Hello Nova 7, 2020! Here is the first peek of the beautiful new vintage of Nova 7 with all the generous aromatics and blushing hue one would expect from such a warm growing season. Right at this moment, our production team is ushering the wine to bottle, with a brand new carton design to boot. For our retail partners and stockists, you’ll be seeing these rosy boxes when we begin sending them out the door in a few weeks’ time. While we watch a beautiful winter snow cover our vineyard this weekend, we are turning our minds to '20 bottlings that will resume when our winemaking team returns from a much-deserved new year break. Prior to their holiday, they worked enthusiastically to bottle and can the '20 vintage of our beloved Pet Nat. This méthode ancestrale is natural and unfiltered and relies on wild fermentation that begins in tank and finishes in bottle or can. With no sugar, yeast or sulphites added and nothing taken away, a cloudy, juicy goodness remains. In a mere few months, when the new vintage of Pet Nat hits shelves, you will have the first taste of what the 2020 growing season brought us, and from the smiles we saw on our winemaking team's faces this past harvest season, we think this is going to be one very exciting vintage.

We’re back after a few days of rest to help you replenish your wine rack, or pick out the perfect bubbly to ring in the New Year. After a week of unseasonably warm weather, we now head into a more typical weekend here in Nova Scotia overcast with a little precipitation. We'll spend Saturday and Sunday hosting guests for guided tasting appointments. Some will experience our 30-minute Classic Tasting, featured here a few posts ago, then take an unhurried browse through our wine shop. Others will enjoy a more in-depth sparkling experience, the Terroir Tasting: Our Terroir Tasting taps into the heartbeat ...of our sparkling program and is perfect for those looking to delve a little deeper into our portfolio. In 90 minutes, we highlight five sought-after traditional method sparklings, including our nearly sold-out '13 Brut Reserve, paired with light charcuterie bites and accompaniments from our garden. Ideal for small groups, there's plenty of space for questions, with additional behind the scenes insights into our story as a farm winery. While this is an afternoon built around wine, it's also a place to safely connect in a relaxing environment with your small group. Mid-fall - a time of reflecting, cleaning, and observing. As we clean up the farm after the harvest season and prepare for winter, the ferments bubble away indoors, starting their journey towards becoming a finished wine. A long, hot drought throughout the summer spilt over into an even-keeled, dry fall: perfect grape-growing conditions, but bittersweet as we know that climate change is the cause of this unusual weather and we felt the effects in our culinary gardens and on n...eighbours’ farms. It is safe to say the 2020 wine vintage is exceptional and promising; we look forward to watching it reveal itself through the wines now taking form in various sizes of barrels, tanks, carboys, and concrete eggs. For now, we continue to wind up the bird nets, hill around the vines and take stock of overall plant health so we can begin our planning season, in just a few short weeks. See more

A few exciting, hard to find, small lot bottles '18 Sauvignon Blanc, '15 Brut and '16 Vidal Icewine are available now in our wine shop, and online soon. Known by their signature, hand-written labels, these wines are produced in limited quantities. In other words, they won't be around for long! Our widely-popular little blue cans are back! 2019 Piquette (12 x 250ml) has returned - along with a brand new pin in its likeness - online and to our Gaspereau Valley wine shop. Piquette is a wine beverage made from the second pressings of grape pomace, known to have been enjoyed by French farmhands and vineyard workers. Our take on the style marries low-intervention winemaking with the sustainability of aluminium cans. A pinch of Bay of Fundy sea salt and organic Citra hops... combine for a reinvigorating and zesty tasting experience.
