Due to the cold weather and uncertainty around school closures this week, we have made the decision to delay the start of hockey academy to the week of February 22. We will coordinate alternate dates to make up the missed ice times which will be communicated at a later date. We are excited to get started and thrilled to have roughly 80 students signed up to participate. We do understand that new information around team sports has recently been announced, which may have chan...ged a family's decision to participate. If your family would like to opt out due these changes please feel free to contact the school and we can make the necessary changes/refunds. We want to thank Bentley Minor Hockey for their support of our program the past many years, especially this year. Our program was developed to support and work closely together for the benefit of all students/players in the Bentley area.

Check out the opportunity by Community Services for youth age 12 to 14 to learn to bake bread via zoom!

Bentley School was proud to present a $500 donation to Westview Apartments and $500 to Bentley Care Centre in addition to some special gift deliveries to Grandparents in our community. Thank you for supporting this year's Toonie Drive for Grandparents!

Yesterday was a great day for a Winter Walk! Special thanks to Mrs. Walker, who leads the nutrition program in our school for providing hot chocolate and a homemade cookie to all our students to enjoy after coming in from the fresh air. Also, thank you to Rodney Varga in Gr. 7 who took the initiative to help shovel a sidewalk along the way!

Just a friendly reminder that the deadline to register for hockey academy is this Sunday, February 7 at midnight. Please get those registrations in so we can plan accordingly. Changes may be required to the schedule based on enrollment numbers.

Today is the last day to get your tickets on the Families in Need Raffle! Tickets are available on the homepage of our website and sales end tonight at 11:59 p.m. The draw will take place live on Facebook at 1 pm on Friday, Dec 18th just before we share the link to our Santa's Got Talent Virtual Christmas Concert!

Bentley School is always amazed by the generosity of our school community with our Bentley School Gives Back initiatives each Christmas. Thanks to your support our school was able to raise $1000 to our Gifts for Grandparents Toonie Drive! I know the seniors in our community are truly appreciative of this initiative each year. We are also happy to announce that our first place prize in the Families in Need Raffle is over $1,200 worth of gift cards and our 2nd place prize conta...ins $800 worth of local business gift cards directly from the Bentley community! We initially planned to make the virtual Christmas concert live on Facebook but due to the many challenges we have faced with Covid and with many of our students and staff isolating at home it became more and more difficult to make that happen. Instead, we have decided to release a recording of the concert. Even though some of the routines may not be as polished as some students and staff would have liked, we made the decision to keep moving forward and hopefully fill your home with some much needed Christmas cheer!
