Golden nugget is a cherry tomato that we've been growing the past couple years thanks to @ctheidt and @lvthorimbert for gifting us seeds a few years ago, truly a gift that keeps on giving. A recipe for Golden Nugget jam came up from an internet search and the result is quite good indeed! Tomato jam? Who knew?

Tonight we're taking FFF to Romania, where we will witness The Death of Mr. Lazarescu (spoiler in the title). It is a 2005 dark comedy about a stinky old engineer who gets shuttled to hospitals around Bucharest, fading away throughout the night, with doctors and bureaucrats too wrapped up in power & authority to care about his suffering. But it's a comedy nonetheless! (and rated #5 on new york time's list of best films of 21st century). Romanian audio; 153 minutes; starts at 8:30.

Fruit leather out of 100% local fruit! All are apple based with added blueberries, raspberries and watermelon mixed into some batches. A totally delicious snack that is shelf stable Every batch consisted of 1/2 to 2/3 applesauce and the other 1/2 to 1/3 was other fruit. Get creative with it by adding spices other flavorings tou think of. Spread onto dehydrator sheet or oiled/lined cookie sheet as evenly as possible and about 1/8 to 1/4 inch thickness. I used a dehydrator but can also use your oven. Either way set it to about 140F for 8-12 hours Here's one of many links if you want to read more. https://www.simplyrecipes.com/re/how_to_make_fruit_leather/

Tomorrow night for FFF we are heading to Soviet Czechoslovakia leading up to the Prague Spring of 1968. Cosy Dens (Pelíšky) is a 1999 coming-of-age tragicomedy about young love between two apartment-building neighbours whose parents are political opponents but who themselves just want to be normal kids. Groovy Czech soundtrack, too! Czech audio; 115 minutes; starts at 8:30
