We might be biased, but we think out of all the holes on our golf course, our favourite has to be #6 The Lookout. This is also a favourite amongst many golfers as well! What makes this tee off special is the fact that you'll be able to take in the scenic landscape of Bigwin Island as well as appreciate Lake of Bays in the background. Golfing with a view never looked this good.

Today marks the 102th year of Remembrance Day. At Bigwin Island Golf Club, we'll be standing silent for 2 minutes at 11am, to remember, honour and thank the brave men and women who gave their lives for our freedom.

Even if you use the cart, players can burn upwards of 1300 calories? This is just another reason as to why the sport of golf is a great form of exercise!

Year after year, our 18 hole golf course at Bigwin Island Golf Club continues to be ranked amongst the best courses in Canada! Each hole on our course is unique making it both challenging and exciting to golfers. Our fairways span the entire Island, giving golfers the space they need to enjoy their game.

This year, we were pleased with the number of applications for the Bigwin Island Education and Community Scholarship. This initiative was originally inspired and funded by former Member and property owner Mr. Fred Purvis, who believes that it is the young people that work at Bigwin Island Golf Club that make this place so special. We owe a debt of gratitude to Fred for making this annual scholarship possible and encourage other Members to please consider contributing, so we c...an keep this amazing program going in the future. We had nine fantastic Bigwin Island Golf Club and Port Cunnington Lodge team members apply to our program. It was a very difficult decision to find our two winners, but we’re pleased to announce that we have awarded Adaire Brunson and Ben Madill $3,000 each. These funds will be directly deposited to their respective institutions and applied to their tuition. Adaire Brunson has just joined our community at Bigwin this year, and has done an outstanding job. As a top server on the Food & Beverage team, Adaire, pictured above, has exemplified Bigwin’s values through her dedication, work ethic, and exceptional customer service. She has received an outpouring of appreciation from Members, who have recognized her sincere nature and appreciated her service. Adaire is pursuing her second year at Lakehead University and majoring in Computer Science. She is incredibly intelligent and is sure to be an absolute success in her career. Thank you for all your hard work this season Adaire, you’re very appreciated! This is Ben Madill’s second season at Bigwin Island Golf Club. He successfully managed the BIMS department this year, he has done excellent work, and our Members speak highly of his workmanship. This September Ben will be entering his first year in the Doctorate of Chiropractic at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in North York. Ben is an exceptional young man that has a wealth of potential for a successful future. We wish you the best of luck in your studies Ben, and we hope to see you back with us next season! We’d also like to congratulate the rest of our candidates, who are excellent representations of everything we believe in at Bigwin Island Golf Club and Port Cunnington Lodge / Marina: Michelle Anderton,(Greens) Josh Armstrong, Sacha Kovacs,(both Golf Services) Curtis Ransom,(Culinary) Riley Rennette,(Port Cunnington Lodge) Mitch White (Greens) and Heather Whyte (Port Cunnington Marina).

Dinners can sometimes be challenging, especially in the cooler months. But that's why we love cooking in the summer months. If you're stuck on what to marinate your chicken in, we've got a few ideas for you.
