Trail report update https://bit.ly/396m7jD While we are looking forward to more cross country skiing terrain opening, trails are currently not ski ready except ...for the Frozen Thunder early season snow track. Please note that restricted registered track times are no longer in effect on Frozen Thunder and season passes are now valid for use. Snowmaking is in progress on the Cross Country Stadium, Banff Trail and the Biathlon Stadium/Penalty Loop but new terrain will not be available until snow coverage has increased. The ice rink is not yet ready and the tobogganing hill has some very thin spots. Remember to check our Trail Report or call the Front Desk for the latest updates.

Frozen Thunder is now open! Please note that registration and wearing a bib is mandatory Monday to Sunday 7:00AM to 12:00 noon. Non-registered public access st...arts at 12:00 Noon and a day pass or a Frozen Thunder/Fall season pass is required to access the track. Please note that a regular season pass does not provide access to Frozen Thunder. The regular season starts on November 14. We have set up a larger staging area to improve safety and provide enough room to physically distance when accessing the track. Please enter and exit the area using the Biathlon Building tunnels. To access the Biathlon shooting range, please use the range stairs and tunnel.

Please note that the Canmore Nordic Centre Day Lodge will be CLOSED for renovations from October 13 through October 15, 2020. During this period, Visitor Services and season pass pick up will not be available. We apologize for the inconvenience.

We are upgrading the "real-rock" structure to a new climbing wall! This is a significant improvement that will make the EP Climbing Gym an even better climbin...g space. The project begins on October 12 and is scheduled for completion on October 22. Most of the work will occur overnight when the gym is closed, but the slab wall area to the interior passage will be unavailable during open hours as we complete the project. Paving Starts Thursday! The final layer of paving at the A&W/Shops of Canmore intersection will take place Thursday to Saturday this week. Note the following i...mpacts to traffic: No access to Bow Valley Trail at the intersection from either Railway Avenue or Benchlands Trail on both Thursday and Friday from 8 a.m. until early evening. The intersection will be open in all directions Thursday evening and night. One lane of traffic will be maintained between Railway Avenue and Benchlands Trail. Local Business Access on Bow Valley Trail will be maintained. Expect delays and plan to use alternate routes if possible.

GUY LAFLEUR AND LOKI SIGNAGE Over the past few months we’ve been working with our partners at Three Sisters Mountain Village on signage for the TSMV trails. Aft...er a few design iterations with Three Sisters Mountain Village and Shift Consulting we’ve come up with something that we think looks amazing. Thanks as always to our friends at CanSign for producing such high quality signage. The signs are set to be installed on the Loki and Guy Lafleur trails at the beginning of October so you’ll see them out there soon. Be sure to let us know what you think.

The first layer of paving at the A&W/Shops of Canmore intersection will take place next wee...k (starting Monday or Tuesday), and is expected to take four days to complete. TEMPORARY TRAIL CLOSURE - Please be advised that the Roller Ski Loop will be closed on Saturday, September 19, due to National Team Training. This closure will... maximize their training efforts for the week-long National Team Festival and reduces the potential of a high-speed collision. For your safety and the safety of athletes, please respect all signage. The trail will re-open once the trials are over. If you need to cross the paved loop to access single tracks or other trails, please proceed carefully when no athletes are in sight and do not stop on the pavement. Always follow directional arrows.
