Clients ask more questions than ever before about the protocols in place to keep them safe during their visit to the salon or spa. We asked Chrissie Paraschos, Education Coordinator & Infection Control Specialist for Cosmetics Brands of North America (CBON), to share her recommendations regarding the steps salons and spas can take to make clients feel safe during services. Education is key! Educate your customers. Let them know what steps you are taking to maintain a germ...-free facility and the additional protocols you are putting into practice to ensure everyones safety. Placing signage of the salons guidelines or practices to share with your clients will give them ease when booking an appointment and arriving at the salon. Promote transparency by posting pictures or videos of real time cleaning and disinfection. It will give your customers confidence that they are in good hands. Add visual reminders, such as posters, of proper hand washing techniques. After cleaning and disinfecting, display a tent card which indicates to the client that the manicure station is ready and safe for use. Tent cards are also a great visual aid for your staff to keep track of which areas they have turned over during those busy periods. Window decals are a great marketing tool addition to tent cards.
