Join us this Saturday for a new virtual baking workshop! At our Maple Syrup and Flatjacks workshop, we'll be making a cornmeal griddlecake popular in 19th century Canada and exploring all things maple! Find out more on our website here: https://bit.ly/2OELKjM
What was it like to grow up as an Irish immigrant in 1860s Ontario? We've added a new character to our Class of '67 online game: Molly Foley. Through this interactive story navigate your way through divided loyalties, earning a living wage, and making a life in Canada. #StPatricksDay More info: https://bit.ly/38OsxTi
Follow up! This is a Dissolving View Magic Lantern, manufactured by Abraham & Company in 1845. Magic Lanterns are an early type of image projector. Magic lanterns were developed for both education and entertainment: to tell stories through dramatic readings. In the mid-1800s it was a way of getting art and everyday life to a wider audience.
Join us virtually in the Tap Room of the historic Half Way House Inn as our costumed guide will show you how to mix up cocktails from 1860s recipes! HAPPENING TONIGHT! Please note the pre-registration is required. Tickets are available to purchase until 4:30 p.m. today! See link below to register.
Home Schooling Families you are in for a treat! Join our virtual workshop on March 28 to go behind the scenes to visit our farm animals in the barnyard. Integra and the goats can’t wait to welcome you! #AnimalLovers Details: https://bit.ly/3oYl49K
Our goats just last Sunday enjoying the last clear fall day, out for a walk with our Head of Livestock, Viola. The care of our animals on our farm, including our rare heritage breeds, depends upon the generosity of visitors like you. Have you ever seen how much a goat can eat? Help us remain a one-of-a-kind animal experience by donating today. https://foundation.trca.ca//giving-tuesday-black-creek-an/
If you are in the Visitor Centre at 11:00 am today, please note that we will be observing the 2 minutes of silence in honour of Remembrance Day.
We need your help this #GivingTuesday! With doors closed at Black Creek Pioneer Village, this year has been a difficult one to fund the daily care that ensures our 60 heritage and rare breed animals are healthy and happy. Please consider donating to the BCPV Animal Care Fund! Make an important difference in the care of our farmyard friends until we all can safely return to the Village. They neigh, baa, bleat and cluck their thanks!... Help us remain a one-of-a-kind education facility and reach our goal of raising $50,000 by making a donation to the BCPV Animal Care Fund!
Explore the Village this fall with a Guided Family Program! Join Catherine Flynn, a young Irish immigrant to Canada, as she tells you about her life and shows you around town!
Much like English Lop rabbits, guinea pigs were popular pets in the 1800s. Did you know their teeth are constantly growing so it’s important for them to chew to wear them down! #animaltherapy

Swags with natural swagger! Every November the Village’s gardening staff and a dedicated group of volunteers create swags to adorn building windows and doors using plant material harvested from the market garden or from around the site. Strawflower, teasel, common milkweed follicles, rosehips, sumac, white sage, and broom corn are harvested and dried as early as July to celebrate the season and the year’s bounty!

Some say black cats are witches in disguise. And we’ll bet you've heard that, if a black cat crosses your path, you're in for a host of bad luck. We say that our black cats, Friday and Tux, are only bad luck for the barn mice!
Did you know you can book virtual workshops led by a talented costumed educator for community groups like Guides and Scouts? Available weekdays, evenings, and weekends! Find out more at our website.
