What's in your favourite winter salad? Share your fave foods to pimp out your salads with me below. Most of the clients I work with associate salads with losing weight. They feel like salads are the only foods they can eat and have to be as plain jane as possible. That's just sad. They eat the same boring or blah *diet* foods all the time until they can't take it any more and quit. It's an awful cycle to be in! ...A LOT of things go into healthy weight loss and eating a varied diet rich in whole foods plays a huge part. We talk about good nutrition - increasing fiber when it's still enjoyable and adding protein and fat to meals. My clients use good nutrition principles to improve to add variety to their diet and boost their food confidence. The best part about improving your nutrition is that pimping out your salads is easy and trying *new* recipes makes healthy eating delicious AF! I know healthy eating can feel so limiting when you're on a diet, and you're stuck in this awful cycle of boring, blah diet meals. [fitness] What are the BEST workouts for women? I got asked this the other day by a potential client who was struggling with what kinds of workouts to do to improve her body composition. My answer? Strength training + HIIT workouts ... Why? Well in order to change our body composition, we need our metabolism to run faster. And our metabolism runs faster when we increase our lean muscle mass. Guess what increases our lean muscle mass? You guessed it - strength training workouts. We also need to improve our overall physical fitness and cardiovascular system but we don't need to overdo it. What if healthy eating didn’t mean eating boring salads everyday? And what if eating healthy didn’t FEEL overwhelming or intimidating? Listen, I know that when it comes to healthy eating, most of us cringe. From the overwhelm of *what* to eat to the dread of endless boring meals while everyone else eats delicious, normal meals healthy eating gets a bad rap. So you do it for awhile, then quit because it sucks OR you just never get started. If you’re a woman who is working to...wards health & fitness goals then you’ve probably gone through this. BUT as a nutrition coach for women, all these beliefs about healthy eating seemed backwards to me.
