Find an entangled whale? Report it immediately and do not try to free the whale yourself. Do you how to make a distress call? Its critical to make sure you keep a cool head, and to make sure you, or someone else, is rescued as quickly as possible.

Did you know that the sight of water promotes wellness by lowering cortisol, increasing serotonin and inducing relaxation, which we all know as that amazing feeling of being on the water!

BC Wildfire Service is working hard to fight the Christie Mountain Wildfire. Watch out for water bombers or helicopters and stay out of Skaha Lake.

Do you know what this flag means? This is the Whale Warning Flag - it is raised in the presence of whales within 400m. When raised, vessels need to slow down, be on the lookout for whales that could surface AND give the whales space! How many flares are you required to carry on board your vessel? Not sure? Better read up on the minimum equipment requirements by boat type and length before you get on the water!

Have you spotted any European green crabs? Report any sightings to Fisheries and Oceans Canada. The European green crab reaches 10 cm in width, is green, but can be red or yellow in colour and is distinguished by five distinct spines on the outer side of each eye. The hardy species is spread in ballast water and fishing activities.

Watch your wake; think about the wash you create for people out fishing, paddling, enjoying time on a moored boat and even those on shore. It doesnt matter if you prefer power, sail or paddle - boaters take care of each other.
