Building a BRC500 up.......You see the transmission in the KTM cases first and then into the BRC500 case. Also, notice the transmission differences between YZ250, SX, and KTM 6 speed. We have had zero transmission gear issues with the 6 speed and 5 speed SX gearboxes. Notice how thin the KTM 6 speed box is... With our 500cc kits, we change the primary reduction to be much longer since the 500 runs at a lower max rpm. The longer primary also reduces loads to the gearbox and cl...utch. For those that think the YZ gearbox is weak, we expect the longer primary ratio we have in mind for the YZM500 will help tremendously. If there is issues, we will have the fragile gears remanufactured with stronger allows.
