This restored 19th century English Fusee schoolhouse clock has had a "new lease on life," with the original clock face just returned from the dial finisher and installed back onto the clock, hopefully... for another one hundred years.

An ingenious part inside this 1920s German mantle clock solves two problems with one part. The small rotating part with two pins slowly lifts up to unlock the rack and let it fall and also counts up the hours so you do not have to look at the clock to tell the time. This eliminates the need for a part called the Rack Hook.

Winding up a 19th century Fusee clock. The Fusee cone on the left acts as a transmission for better power distribution to the pendulum for better time keeping. Leonardo da Vinci made a drawing of a Fusee in 1490. Credit was given to Jacob Zech of Prague for inventing it in 1525.
