This incredible young woman has overcome problems recognizing sounds in speech and physical challenges with speaking to become a powerful communicator. The impact of an extended lifespan on hearing is an interesting notion. A longer life - with high quality of living - underscores the importance of early detection and treatment of hearing loss so that we're hearing well at all stages of life...whether that's over 80, 100 or 120 years or more!

Even though humans can't hear it, evidence suggests that plants and insects can "hear" each other's sounds. From the frequency of a bee's buzz releasing pollen from tomato and flowering plants to beetles hearing air bubbles popping in a drought-stressed plant, there's a lot going on out there!
