Got out to Giant’s Demo day today!! I had the opportunity to ride their trail bike the Trance and their electric trail Ike the Trance E+. What a great time!! I gotta say even covered in mud the Trance E+ looks pretty sweet on a Brocksolid rack :-D

Today I found the answer to a very important question, that surprisingly no one hads asked yet. We’ve seen that the BS4 can carry mountain bikes with ease, but can it handle Tinker Bell bikes? YES! Yes it can. Quite easily in fact. This may not seem that important at first glance but if you have little riders in your family the BS4 will carry their bikes where they need to go.

FOR SALE!!!! The BS4 is a hand crafted, hitch mounted, quad bike rack. Features include aluminum and stainless steel construction to prevent rust, four pairs of adjustable crown forks to carry up to four bikes of almost any style (INCLUDING MANY ROAD BIKES), adjustable mast to allow trunk access, and a hitch clamp to reduce noise. Today is a very exciting day! The day that it all comes together. The very first Brocksolid4 (BS4 for short) is complete! I’m still planning on having them up for sale at the beginning of October but if you’re interested feel free to let me know before then. Or if you have a friend, let them know

Got the first rack mostly pieced together, just waiting on plastic parts. Thought I’d do a test fit

Today’s project has been to weld up these beauties! The next step will be to coat them with a semi ridged vinyl so as to add a little cushion and prevent scratching the bike they’ll hold.

A few months ago I built my first bike rack. It was a desperate race against the clock to get it together as I had a trip planned and key parts of my store bought rack had been stolen. It came together so nicely and work really well, so well in fact that I still use it today. Now that the time crunch has past I’m on to the second edition, built to be more ridged, carry more weight, be more durable, and overall more refined. Production is officially underway and the goal is to have an amazing product ready for October 1st
