We are entering the Colbourne Juried Show. So far we are in, just not sure which piece or pieces have been selected. So watch for breaking news here. :)
Once again I have had the support of the public in a recent art exhibition and won The People's Choice Award. I am delighted and honoured to have been selected and Thank you very much for your support of my work. The painting that won is an acrylic painting entitled Bailey's Blanket.
Just finished restoring two historic Religious Icons. One more to go. I have a lot of work ahead of me for the last one. But I enjoy the challenge and the final results. As well I always learn something through the process.
7 Steps to Realism is a one-day workshop - Saturday March 31, 9:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. A hands-on course designed to bring a greater sense of 'being there' to your work, and to reinforce the importance of good composition and value structure before detail - the icing on the cake. (All mediums; variety of your photo references) Getting Started In Oil - April 18; 9;30-12:30 (6 weeks). Because of the present popularity of oil painting, we're offering this course again, to be continued if there's enough interest.
In Kingston, Pastel 1 is scheduled to begin March 22 (next week!) - 9:30 a.m.-12:30, at the Kingston School of Art but we could use a few more students - may have to postpone starting date. (We like to keep flexible!) Chalk pastel is the unique cross-over medium between drawing and painting, and is wonderfully direct in its application. We will practice basic technique to begin with, then on to interpreting subject matter from your photo sources. Pastel 2 presently is scheduled for April 26 (same time). A particularly great medium for portraits and the figure - lots of possibilities!
What, Why, How? These are three questions to ask yourself when approaching art in any form as an artist. What should I create? Why should I create it? How should I create it.
Use the force, Bruce
The Team Original sold -Private collection Oil on panel... Giclee Prints can be purchased any size. Please contact me for details. We also accept PayPal.
What's a Giclee? A Giclee is a museum quality archival print printed with pigment ink lasting for many generations. Up to 200 years. Various archival papers are selected for printing to best represent each painting. Images of paintings can also be printed on canvas to simulate the original canvas painting. Printing on canvas is one of the vogue ways people are displaying their favorite works of art. When there is but 1 original this is a great way to share your love for art and the artist.
