'Love the artistic work & colors in this watercolor bird print' I received this wonderful comment and picture from one of my customers over in my Etsy store. It's called 'Spring Blooms' and I could really use some of this today, as I look outside at all the snow. Oh and all the wonderful shoveling of that snow yesterday:( Spring can't come soon enough this year!

Facebook meet Tom! Tom is an original acrylic painting 24x30 and needs a forever home. If you’d like to purchase Tom just DM. Painting animal portraits is an interesting experience. Perhaps it’s the eyes I’m not sure but with these type of paintings I form a strange attachment. Let me try to explain. I do a rough outline and block in some colour, and continue on building the colours and textures. I’m still not really relaxed in the process yet but ...I press on. Completing an ear or the horns and I’m waiting. I’m waiting for the moment that the essence of the animal gently touches the canvas. It’s like an old friend entering the room and I say oh there you are. If any of you have seen the movie ‘The man who invented Christmas’ it’s like when Dickens finally came up with the name Scrooge and everything fell into place. Once I capture the essence of the animal then I can relax and the rest of the picture becomes a joy and almost feels like it paints itself. It might sound funny but this is how my creative journey feels. See more
