There is dire need for change. As members of the Western community, we need to make a conscious effort in ensuring that all students regardless of their race or... ethnicity, are protected from acts of violence and harassment on campus. It is also imperative that if committed, the acts are handled with urgency and the perpetrators are punished in a manner which reflects the severity of their actions. Recently, the university administration has been called upon to create a more accessible reporting process, mandate anti-racism training for all staff, and this is one of the initiatives. See more
