FOOTBALL REOPENS IN NOVA SCOTIA 2020 The wait is finally over! Football Nova Scotia is pleased to announce its Return to Football Plan is completed and has be...en reviewed by the Province. Amateur football will be returning to the field with restrictions. * Based on the current public health restrictions, football will return under Phase 2 of the Football NS Return to Football plan. Starting today, July 6, 2020, all community-based member associations/teams may start taking registrations and begin on-field practices as soon as they have met the requirements laid out in Football Nova Scotia’s plan. * All high school teams are governed by the Nova Scotia School Athletic Federation (NSSAF) and should contact them for direction on return to football. * Please note, that Phase 2 will allow provincial and community-based programs to gather, train and practice while keep within the guidelines of NS Public Health Authority. This means that there can be a maximum of 50 participants on a field of play, socially distanced, if the facility space allows, or there can be groups of 10 participants who are not distancing, provided each group is distanced from the other, again to a total of 50 participants. Each exclusive group of 10 would include both players and coaches. * Any competitions at this stage would be limited to scrimmages or mini games within each group of 10. No league or inter-league play is allowed. * Football NS will update the member associations/teams on our progression to Phase 3. * Football Nova Scotia would like to thank the Department of Community, Culture and Heritage; Sport Nova Scotia and Football Canada for their direction and hard work in creating a balanced and thought-out opportunity to return to play. * A huge shoutout to our football community in the province for their patience and understanding during these trying times.
