Warm-up at Regionals:

2018 Simon Fraser Regional Championships Meet is going to be next week Aug 3rd 5th at Central Park. The Meet Package has been uploaded to the club website under 'Events'. If you have signed up the meet, it is highly recommended you look through the document to get familiar to the meet process and format. Hope to see you at Regionals and Good luck everyone!

Thank you to all the Manta families that donated toys and money to the BC Children's Hospital Christmas Toy Drive. We raised $6000 in toys and $2000 in gift cards. I'm sure there were some happy children at BC Children's on Christmas morning. Thank you all for your generosity.

SFU has informed us that due to PH level issues in the pool, all practices are cancelled for today. Our apology for any inconvenience.

Christmas Toy Drive for Children's Hospital: Children's Hospital is looking for toy donations to hand out to sick kids on Christmas day. We have emailed everyone a list of gift ideas from the hospital for this year. These are just suggestions and any contribution of toys to this cause is welcome.... Please bring any donations to the following practice times/locations and please give them to your coaches: CG Brown or SFU: Sat Dec 9 Sun Dec 10 Sat Dec 16 Sun Dec 17 Thanks!

Due to a swim meet, all SFU practices are cancelled this weekend (Oct 14 and 15).

Hi Mantas, We are excited to hosting another team practice - it will be this Sunday (July 30th) @ SFU from 10:45 AM to 1:00 PM. This practice we will be more focused on helping swimmers prepare their Starts, Turns and Relay skills for the upcoming Regional Championships, but it will be a fun time regardless of if you plan on attending the meet or not! Swimmers will be broken off into two groups, Development & Junior, or Intermediate & Senior, where we will be running them thr...ough stations in water and on land lead by our Mantas Coaches! Urgent!! Please pass the message along ASAP: *** Since we had Robert Burnaby pool booked on Friday in July from 5-6 PM, we will have to make adjustments as below. As a result, Bryan and Helen's groups will have to have their practices cancelled this Friday, but luckily, we still have enough pool space to accommodate all groups with minimal shuffling for the rest of the weeks.... Burnaby Barracudas Meet Warm-up Times

Just received confirmation from SFU that the pool will NOT be open tonight. We will proceed with drylands plan. See the alternative plan in the previous message and arrange your pick up on time.

The practices tonight (May 10, 2017) may be affected due to a high pH chemical imbalance at the SFU pool which the staff are trying to get to normal levels for tonight's pool practices. If they are unable to fix the problem tonight dryland sessions will still go on. The dryland practices are listed below for the affected groups: Practice Duration if pool is closed Tanisha V. & Cara M. - Dryland: 6:00-6:45 PM Lauryn S. - Dryland: 6:00-6:45 PM... Colin L. - Dryland: 6:00-6:45 PM Alan H. - Dryland: 6:15-7:15 PM Vincent C. - Dryland: 7:00-8:15 PM (Luica will be covering) Helen G. - Dryland: 7:15-8:15 PM EDIT: SFU Pool is closed. Dryland will continue as usual.

Practices at SFU tonight (May 10, 2017) may be affected due to a pH imbalance at the SFU pool. SFU staff are trying to return pool pH normal levels for tonight's pool practices. If they are unable to fix the problem tonight, dryland sessions will still go on. Please refer to the email sent out regarding this issue for a list of affected groups.

Happy first day of the 2017 Summer Season!

The summer season is about to start. A "Welcome Email" which includes swimmer grouping, coaches and initial schedule just been sent out. The email was sent to the contact email indicated on the swimmer registration form. If you have not received the email please contact our parent liaison Ravi: [email protected].

Sorry Swimmers and Parents, Mother Nature has taken a turn for the worst. The mock meet tonight is cancelled. Hopefully we can make it up sometime before winter session ends, if not hopefully you all can attend the summer mock meet.... The Mantas Executive and coaches are concerned about the road conditions worsening especially by later this evening with the snowfall amounts being raised higher by Environment Canada. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Hi, 8 Rinks is OPEN and the parking lot has been plowed. For those who have signed up for the skating (team building) social event tonight at 8 Rinks starting at 7:15 PM please remember to arrive early to rent and put on skates. URGENT: Due to a pool time mix up, practice times for all groups swimming at SFU this week will be changed, effective immediately. Hats Off Day is This Saturday! Here's the message from our Liaison: Here are the details for the Mantas Hats Off Day parade position, meeting place and time.... We ask for everyone attending to please leave plenty of time to commute and find parking (if necessary). Meeting time is 8:45 sharp, on Beta Ave. north of Hastings St. Please be prepared to walk from Beta St. to Boundary. We will have spots in the truck and trailer which we will try and rotate the younger kids through. Wear a hat with a jungle or fish (manta) theme or your black swim cap - also the new Manta's shirts or hoodies if you have one - otherwise a black top to blend in.

2016 Mantas Mock Meet result has been posted on club website. Several meet packages are also available there. Check them out. Cancellation - Senior A - May 5th Practice (5:15-7:00pm @ Central Park) The Sr. A practice had been cancelled today due to light of the current circumstances surrounding the group. I encourage all Senior A swimmers to band together in support of one another. Reach out for help; your family and the mantas family are here to support you. -- From our Head Coach Vincent Since there are few Sr. A swimmers still wanting to swim, after discussion with the head coach, we decide to open the pool to Sr. A swimmers for their self practice during original practice hours. Today (April 30) is the last day of winter maintenance Tomorrow (May 1st) is the first day of the summer season. The grouping and May practice schedule has been emailed to all 2016 summer swimmers.
