Shout out to my client and cousin Faith!! This girl has twin toddlers, 3 school aged kids PLUS a husband in the fields and has still made herself a priority. She is a badass for real!

I can be the first to say this used to be me! Always checking as soon as I was done my workout to see what I burned. However if this is what you are doing you are missing SO many aspects to your workout. 1) how did that workout make you feel? Did you feel like a boss? And did you lose that feeling when you thought you should have burned more calories? 2) Did you up your weights? If so. Good for you!! That is a key component to progression. Again. Something the watch cannot ...tell you. 3) Did you focus on intensity in the workout? Did you truly push yourself to the best of your ability? 4) If you train to failure, did you accomplish a few more reps than last time? Again. Gooood work!!! 5) Did you have an ah ha moment in your workout. Where you realized you ARE worth setting time aside for and getting in a lift or run? Again, Somethings the watch can never tell you. Also. If you have an Apple Watch and friends on it. Did you ever feel ashamed of it sending your workout. I have had friends unfriend certain people in fear of being judged over lower calories burned. The Apple Watch itself has auto responses you can send to your friends. And some are down right shameful. With sayings such as that’s it? Thanks for setting the bar low. Or challenging people to compete. This is not how fitness should be . Say that again. Your workout is for YOU. And you shouldn’t be competing with anyone else. Stay in your lane, do you and rejoice in what your body accomplished. Now the watch has its place, I mean your girl was a non invasive cardiology technologist pre buying a DQ. So I do love the heart rate feature as it pertains to fitness. The rest, is just fluff! Focus on intensity, upping your weights (safely) and enjoying your workouts!! Happy Monday CFIT babes and Cass

As I talk to some clients this morning. My biggest tip is to start small! Sure, a big change can sound so exciting and promising. But when we take on too many changes too quickly we often quit when it becomes too much. So instead of going paleo, taking up marathon training and writing a novel. Start with getting 3L of water a day and more movement. Once you master that add getting more protein in your diet. One healthy choice leads to another, but all those choices don’t have to start today. and Cass
