Now that Valentine's Day and Family Day have passed. I would like to remind my fellow Canadians that it Black History Month. Earlier in the month my company HUB had provided us the opportunity to participate in a WLU Webinar on Canadian Black History in a presentation called Fight for Freedom: Stories of African, Caribbean, and Black Acitivists, Elders, and Scholars It was a really interesting program highlighting our own unique history in Canada, focusing on success of thes...e communities and people here in Canada, as well as the history of discrimination that played at part here at home as well. Most of the time we only hear about the US history or our underground railway but there is far more to it then just that! Teach your kiddos and/or teach yourself Take the time to learn our history so that it never repeats again! Thank you for reading! Cainerfest is proud to continue the message of ending mental health stigma We have supported the Canadian Mental Health Association for 6 years to continue the call for the dire attention needed to treat mental health care in the same priority as physical health. Especially during the pandemic, more than ever we need to be a community..and creatively so with social distance requirements. ... Even before the pandemic, accessing programs, doctors, and resources for mental health had been strained. During this pandemic we have seen increases in use of kids help lines, addiction and overdose services, grieving programs, and family supports. Parents have become full time workers, teachers, and caregivers. The stress and strain on our lives has changed and the importance of finding a way to decompress and self care and balance is needed more than ever. PLEASE SHARE CainerFest is not only about financial goals. As much as every year we have a target we shoot for, we know in these 'times' of 2020 mayhem it woul...d be too much to ask. In 2020, due to Covid-19, there are no corporate sponsorships, businesses are unable to commit financially, and some businesses of years past have closed. For this year, instead, we wanted to focus on continuing this charity music festival for those who still suffer from mental health issues and for those who are experiencing them for the first time. Suicide is real. Prevention and & Awareness is essential. We are, indeed, asking for financial donations. In return, we do our best to provide everyone with a music show for your kindness and thoughtfulness. ALL these musicians from Friday to today have given up their free time, and even perhaps turned down gigs to help us help others, for free. Please helps us reward them for their valuable time. Let's show those in need that we are there for them when they need it most. Day 2 - Rock/Alternative/Punk/Funk .. I have never felt prouder of a line up!!! EVL just smashed it again for the 2nd year in a row, Save The Night lived up to... the hype, Ignore The Evidence was solid as usual. Stay At Home Dads was a force to be reckoned with. Part of The Plan and FIRE took no names, including mine!! They slayed me!!! No new government rule will stop us in our tracks. We are here to stay. CainerFest 2020 .. We miss you Jordan Thank you to everyone who attended live or online, including my mom and dad. See everyone tomorrow 3-8pm for some family fun. We got a few soloist and closing with a couple just good ole fun R&R

Day 1 - Metal Night .. what can I say ... we were all worried about attendance and online viewing of course. I'm not sure what words to use to explain how impre...ssed I was to see so many faces come to the event and folks that watched online. Totally shattered expectations due to Covid-19. Each and every one of you that came out or viewed online I owe you a huge thanks. To all the bands that performed, my complete gratitude. EVERY band nailed it. My deepest thanks and amazement to Rockstar Music Hall. David MichaelStacy Donnelly and to all the kids that helped out. THANK YOU!!!
