Italian Sprinkle Cookies Made with my own personal twist, these Italian sprinkle cookies are a semi-sweet almond cookie, a little crunchy, with a soft interior, topped with a creamy vanilla almond icing, and playful sprinkles. Made using the reverse creaming method, these little round cookies are tasty, and different than our traditional North American cookies in the best way. I’d suggest pairing these with a good cup of coffee.... These will be available as part of our Valentines Day menu. Italian Cookie Box anybody?! We will open for v-day pre-orders the first week of February

You know when you have a crush on someone and your heart races when you see them? You get butterflies in your tummy, your hands shake, and sometimes your knees go a little weak? Well, I’m head over heels for this gem of a cake. It’s one of my all time favourites.

I’m a huge fan of 4/6 tiered cakes. They are the absolute perfect statement size for any intimate event. I’ve been lucky enough to make quite a few of them over the past year due to our social gathering restrictions. Tonight is a test night at the kitchen. I’ll be working on some Valentines Day goodies! I’ve been told there’s something inherently romantic about being in Italy.....

Happy Limbo Week! It’s that wonderful time between Christmas and New Years when no one knows what day or time it really is- and it really doesn’t matter! ....I spent yesterday planning our Valentines Day goodies and OMG you guys are in for a massive treat!

We will have lots of our coveted Chocolate Crinkle Cookies available for sale at both of our Holiday Pop-Ups! We will have them available in bags of twelve, along with our Chocolate Crinkle Cookie Kits. Everything is FCFS at the Pop-Up, so please plan to arrive somewhat early. We will be designing a COVID friendly in-and-out line, so it will not be a store-type scenario with browsing. You will make your way to our sales table, pickup your Cookie Box, and order whatever else you’d like from our menu, and a team member will put it together for you.

I’m trying to conjure up a magic wand so I can fill more Holiday Cookie Box orders my friends. If I release more for preorder, there will be no boxes FCFS on the Pop-Up dates; however there will be things like: Chocolate Crinkle Kits... The COOLEST Halloween dessert table, for the COOLEST wedding! Guests came in costume-> there were pumpkins, and sugar skulls, and cobwebs, and the neatest Halloween decor. If I get married again, I’m doing it on Halloween

This is a 4 Mini Cake! I’ve been making loads of these with my leftover batter so things don’t go to waste. I have a pretty fantastic dessert table for a wedding this weekend, and allllll the extras will be for you guys! I’ll be putting together some fall dessert boxes including pumpkin tarts, spice cupcakes, cookies, chocolate dipped strawberries, brownies, lemon cake..... all handmade by yours truly Watch our stories on Saturday morning between 9-10am. You don’t want to miss this- and I have no clue how many I’ll be able to make.

Here’s the deal friends- you can preorder your boxes for TWO pickup dates. You cannot change dates after your purchase has gone through. I am slammed in December and will make as many as I possibly can, however there will be significantly less than previous years. I will not be including sugar cookies in the Holiday Cookie Boxes this year, because the past two years they baked too big and made the boxes hard to close and less aesthetically pleasing. ... Pickup dates are DECEMBER 13th and DECEMBER 20th. On both dates I will have extra items for sale in a FCFS basis. This includes extra bags of Chocolate Crinkle Cookies (I know how much you love those babies), Almond Rocca (yup), Cookie Box Mixes, Cake Box Mixes (*new product alert*), holiday cupcakes, and much more....! So order early, and pick up early, is my advice. I love you all, and as much as I almost shut down the Holiday Cookie Boxes this year, I couldn’t do that to you!

I am prepping to open up pre-sales for our Halloween Sugar Cookie Kits the first week of October! Today I’ll be playing with royal icing (which you all know I don’t often do) to snap some inspiration photos when you get your kits! I’m also toying with the idea of offering some Halloween cupcakes for pickup on Saturday, October 31st. I know this Hallow’s Eve will be very different for most families, and a tasty little cupcake treat just might make the celebration a little more exciting!

I don’t offer sculpted or fondant cakes, this is a choice. What I do offer is clean, modern, and darn tasty, buttercream cakes for all occasions! This means a more refined theme, a more subtle addition to your already existing themed decor in the form of a cake. This particular cake is quite modest in theme, however it was loads of fun to put these colours together, and most importantly, it fit the party budget!

Today is my first all day Zoom meeting... how could anybody not wear sweatpants?! Another good thing about being home for the day, is the fresh sourdough cinnamon buns in the oven! They will be warm and perfect for Josh and I to have as a mid-morning snack.

Happy Friday! Today feels like a weird day... I’m not sure why. Maybe it’s the smoke? Maybe the fog? Maybe the fact that this weekend will be my last day in the kitchen for two weeks, being my first break since April! It won’t be a walk in the park- I took the time off because I’ll be starting medication for my brain tumour and I’d hate to have to cancel on any of you!

Rustic white buttercream with edible flowers This bride sent me a photo from Pinterest of a cake covered in edible pressed flowers that she had her heart set on... upon inspection the flowers used were not actually safe for consumption and I had to change it up significantly. If you are a bride, searching for inspiration images, please keep in mind that many cakes are made specifically for photo shoots that are generally NOT edible! They may have components such as styrofoam, spray paint, crafting glitter, cardboard, and many other fun artsy things to make the cake look great for photos- while setting unrealistic expectations for others.

It’s the last weekend of summer Although this was the weirdest summer of our lives, I know many families got an abundance of much needed family time, home projects were completed, and many of us are carrying a golden glow from more time in the sunshine than we’ve had in many years. I’m such a sucker for roses on cakes, especially when they are as bright and cheery as these! I love playing with different greenery textures to add character to the cake too!

Stick to your bubbles folks

I set a goal for myself this summer, and while I was hit with a powerful punch of medical concerns, I made my goal! It is the last day of August and my little cake company has reached the goal I set for it! Although I worked double shifts most days of the week, worked later than I’d like each day, hardly saw my family, all while jumping through countless medical hoops....but I made it!

Let’s all feel like #superhero’s today! Do something nice for someone- I promise you’ll feel amazing after, and who doesn’t want to go into the weekend feeling amazing?! While I do not offer fondant cakes, I do use fondant and gum paste embellishments to create simplistic and modern theme cakes. This #captainamerica cake is a perfect example.

Happy birthday to you Happy birthday to you What’s your favourite flavour of cake? My new favourite is our Vanilla or Lemon cake! We don’t use a milk or syrup soak on our cakes, instead we use a reverse creaming method and incorporate a hearty dose of buttermilk into the batter. This cake has a delightfully tender crumb and feels like cashmere (I’m not kidding!!!) in your mouth.

How cute are these little beauties?! I’ve been having so much fun playing around in the kitchen these days. My business has grown so much, and for a short period of time I lost my enthusiasm for baking, as I was so overwhelmed with orders that didn’t fit with my creativity. I’m back to enjoying myself and having fun because I’m only accepting orders that make my heart happy If there’s anything I’ve learned in the past couple months, it’s to fill your time with things that make your heart full, and join yourself with people who lift you up.

Unicorn cakes cake in with a bang, and are still going strong! I love the variety of colour requests, however my favourites are sweet and simple like this babe- clean white lines, soft eyes, and a mix of mane. I’m also a gold person and love using my edible gold spray paint whenever possible

This weekend is another busy one! August is generally our most popular month of the year besides December cookies and I am loving it! This year has been a whirlwind of new, but a good new. It’ll come as no surprise that next June-August is filling up quickly, with a few dates fully reserved already. While I try to accommodate as many of you as I possibly can, I know of some other great local cake artists to help out if I am unavailable for your requested date.
