Our Education and Mission Committee, with the help of shopper extraordinaire, Niki Nauta, has arranged for a Christmas Family. This year Camlachie United Church are providing Christmas for a single mom with 3 kids ages 4, 7, and 7. Let the spoiling begin! We normally have a Cookie Walk to generate funds for our Christmas Family. However this year, maybe you could sit down with and enjoy your own cookies, while you make out a cheque or do an eTRansfer to Camlachie United C...hurch to contribute to Christmas for this family. Niki has already started shopping; monetary donations will be accepted until December 20. The sooner Niki has money for shopping, the better, as everything is more challenging and time consuming with COVID. The fundraiser is strictly monetary; Niki is the only shopper. We plan to have a White Donation Box for cheque’s in the narthex, and you can use the usual donation methods of etransfers, etc. Donations should be noted as being for the Christmas Family.

FOOD BANK SUNDAY~THIS SUNDAY We have resumed monthly collections of non-perishable food and other items for the Inn of the Good Shepherd. The next donation day is December 6th, on the theme of treats and staples for a Christmas meal (e.g. canned gravy, vegetables, cranberries, boxed stuffing, juice, cake mixes, biscuits, etc.) Any other donations of non-perishable food, school snacks and hygiene items are in high need and would be welcome. Note that the donation bin will be placed outside the Church doors and will remain for the day (for anyone who wishes to donate, but cannot attend that day’s service.) Thank you from the Mission and Education Committee.

Advent's Lament: A Blue Christmas worship gathering with Moderator Richard Bott. Dec. 9, 2020 - 7:30 p.m. EST; 4:30 p.m. PST Christmas can often be a difficult ...time for many of us. Usually, the world is in a grand celebratory mode, and doesn't make much space for people who are grieving, or feeling sadness, anxiety, frustration, or loss. This year, in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, many of these feelings are stronger, and many more people are struggling with Christmas. As we mark one year of changed life because of Covid-19, we would like to offer a denominational-wide service of lament for Advent. We hope you will join us on our YouTube channel. Watch for more details soon. #UCCan #Advent #UCCanCOVID19 #BlueChristmas
