11 Days of Remembrance: From November 1 to 11, the Canadian Fallen has posted photos submitted by our followers to honour all the soldiers who have served our country in times of conflict. Thank you to those who participated this year. We have enjoyed hearing your stories and learning about your loved ones. Day 11: Guardsman Paul Folsach Ingwersen (Canadian Grenadier Guards R.C.A.C.) Submitted by: Shauna Hill, Great-Niece Conflict: WWII... Born in Denmark on September 29, 1918. Son of Axel and Agnes Ingwersen of Port Perry, ON. Brother of Mary Hill, William Ingwersen, Ulf Ingwersen and Johannes Ingwersen. Worked as a Wood Contractor prior to his service. Enlisted June 19, 1940 at North Bay, ON. Member of the 22nd Armd. Regt. Died of wounds received in action on Aptil 25, 1945, when he was hit by a shell fragment after a round went off inside his tank. Day 9: William Gerald Miller Submitted by: Nancy Duguay Conflict: WWII... Enlisted with the Canadian Armoured Corps 3/6/41 in Toronto, ON. Awarded the 1939-45 Star, Italy Star, France Star, Germany Star, Defence Medal, CVSM+ Clasp and War Medal. Served 1942-1946 with RCAC as a wireless operator He was in UK, Italy and North West Europe. Served with Toronto Scottish Reserve 1946-1952. Enrolled in Canadian Forces May 1952 and served with 1 Canadian High Battalion in Europe.
