"In October, seven-year-old Skyler from Bradford had his new electric scooter stolen after taking it to a local park. The little boy, who has autism spectrum disorder, was crushed. His parents and neighbours did all they could to help locate the scooter, including putting up posters around the community. But just before Christmas, South Simcoe police officers decided to play the role of Santa and came together to gift the little boy his own ride-on police car. Police Consta...bles Raymond and Carrique had the pleasure of making the delivery to Skyler, who was over the moon with his new toy. "I really wanted to thank you for the love and dedication you give to our community," [Skyler's mother],Talya said about the service. "They're unbelievable.""
A very good read from the daughter of an Ontario Provincial Police Association member about the impact a family feels when a loved one is a police officer from the perspective of a young daughter: "I usually don’t even realize I’m worrying until he gets home and hugs me" "To you, he may be just another ‘cop’but to me, he is my dad, he is my keeper, he is my world"
A reminder that our officers sometimes deal with deeply traumatic events and scenes. Your continued support is felt and deeply appreciated.
It was a ruff day for a wanted man in Nanaimo! It did not take long for Luca to subdue the man after he attempted to flee from officers
I just started waving trying to get the officer’s attention, he said. The officers were quick to realize McElmon was choking and one of them immediately performed the Heimlich manoeuvre on him, McElmon said. They were able to save me and get me breathing properly by the time paramedics arrived on site, he said.... McElmon added: Today I have a feeling of thankfulness and joy. If it wasn’t for that quick-thinking officer, I might not be here today.
"The Calgary police officer killed in the line of duty leaves behind his wife, Chelsea, who is pregnant with the couple's first child. In Calgary and beyond, blue ribbons dot mailboxes and trees on residential streets and porches glow blue for the fallen officer. A day after Calgary police Chief Mark Neufeld fought back tears at a press conference he described as one he'd had nightmares about, Calgary's top cop thanked the public for the "outpouring of community support."... "It means the world to our officers to see these displays while they continue in their duties during this difficult time," said Neufeld."
On the 2nd anniversary of Ryan Michael Nehiley's murder, police in Halifax are asking the public to please come forward if they have any relevant information. "Anyone with information is asked to call police at 902-490-5016 or submit an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers."

A really positive update on Const. Chris Dobbs. He will back in his hometown in time for Christmas! "Dobbs, a five year veteran of the OPP, was critically injured Nov. 26 when the driver of a car was trying to elude police, hit his cruiser and thrust it into the officer as he worked on measures trying to end the chase."
A wonderful end to an emergency in Toronto: "It began with a 911 call at around 8:30 a.m. on Nov. 18, after a family in a car at University Ave. and Wellington St. noticed their four-month-old boy had turned blue and was not breathing." Const. Yeung performed CPR on the four-month-old and saved the boy's life.... "Just in his first year on the job, this was not the first time Yeung had lept into action in a bid to save someone’s life. In August, he dove into Lake Ontario and swam out to help a drowning woman at Harbourfront."
We couldn't agree more with our friends from the London Police Association: Instead of demanding that municipalities defund the police, all citizens should be demanding the federal and provincial governments properly fund and structure our health-care system"
An improvised explosive was found in downtown Regina. A 31-year-old man was caught and charged by police. "The suspect, Lyndon Adrian Chamberlin, was then found and arrested without incident.... This is good to hear. Distracted driving, dangerous driving, and stunt driving have all been on the rise. It is encouraging to see Toronto Police tackling these infractions head-on.
Jashyne Ceballo, 15 years old, is missing. Please share his image.
We hope there will come a day when these checks, stops, and charges are no longer necessary. It’s so simple. If you’re drinking do not drive.
Congratulations, Ontario Provincial Police Association.
That must be one thankful beaver! "Const. Chris Martin said he and his partner received a call around 11 a.m. Sunday that a beaver was stuck inside a storm drain near Harvie Passage." It took a team effort but in the end the beaver swam happily down the river.
Excellent news out of Calgary! ‘Five people from Calgary have been charged with drug-trafficking offences after a seven-month-long investigation led officers to seize nearly $6 million worth of drugs and cash.’ Another instance of the patience and professionalism of Canadian police personnel.
A familiar scene playing out again this time in Kingston. A routine traffic stop leads to an important seizure of weapons. Thank you, officers. We know that you face unexpected challenges from even the most benign operations.
A routine traffic stop can prove to be an invaluable preventative measure. Thank you, officers. https://twitter.com/OPPCommissi/status/1313815010599153666
Occasionally it’s important to remind folks that it’s best to keep imitation firearms out of sight when transporting them. Occurrences like these can lead to dangerous misunderstandings, sometimes fatal ones. As the old adage goes, ‘Better safe than sorry’.

Once again, Canadian police execute their duty professionally and promptly, without incident. Our policing apparatus allows us to track and pursue suspects across the nation, and thankfully, these incidents are resolved quickly. Job well done, officers.
Excellent work as always, Toronto Police. Seizures like these are vital in battling gun violence in the city. This represents one less opportunity for something heinous to occur.
