I know for many this holiday season is very different than 2019... here's a little advice from the Norwegian nissen: "Everything doesn't have to be perfect... except for my porridge..." Remember when nissen is happy everyone is happy.... God Jul!

4 more sleeps, but who is counting I would love to know what's your favorite holiday movie? My Dad got us hooked on A Miracle on 34th St, a classic! A couple of years ago we discovered Christmas Story a Finnish made movie - it's magical, I highly recommend adding it to your library. See a clip here

In a recent Study Hall with our CRS Foot Reflexology Diploma students the group collectively brainstormed various resources, in addition to reflexology, that we could use ourselves and suggest to family and clients to reduce stress, especially now. The group came up with some amazing ideas! Which one will you implement? Drop it in the comments below.

Wellness Wednesday. FB Stress, anxiety and overwhelm are at an all time high. As practitioners we are seeing higher than normal stress levels in our clients (and maybe ourselves too) here is a great article you can share to support those that are feeling overwhelmed.

Hand Reflexology Reflexes Here are some great hand reflexes to work on to help reduce stress levels and strengthening our immune system, both areas are important to pay attention to during these uncertain times. The lymph node reflexes are found in the webs of your fingers and can be gently squeezed to work. Your solar plexus reflex is found in the centre of your palm, great for balancing the nervous system and STRESS.... Let me know if the comments if these are sensitive for you!

On our recent "off the grid" family camping trip this was my view in the morning... the afternoon... and the evening. Just looking up at them makes me automatically started taking nice deep breaths... I love how calming nature is. . Give me a YES if you agree! #forestbathing

This Fall I have been mixing it up with my smoothies and adding either Cinnamon, Nutmeg, Cloves or All Spice to get the "warming" benefits of these spices. Which smoothie do you plan on trying out?

Celebrating World Reflexology Week September 21-27! DAY 5 Twenty-one years ago, at the 1999 I.C.R. Conference, some amazing things happened: . World Reflexology Week was initiated with a full marketing package. The conference was held in Hawaii and the governor of Hawaii proclaimed the last week of September World Reflexology Week. ... Ear Reflexology was introduced as a new modality. I had been studying it for a few years prior so this was exciting! The conference theme was East meet West. It was the first time westerners had an opportunity to see and understand eastern methods of reflexology which included a large delegation from Taiwan there to share the Father Joseph method of Reflexology. I had heard about reflexology in Taiwan and was eager to learn more. They were offering sessions to demonstrate their method and I signed up; to my delight Father Joseph was the one who worked on me! This photo is of Fr. Joseph and I at the 2019 ICR Conference 20 years after our first meeting. He came to see me after my lecture and we talked, shared and laughed together, he is such a sweet man.

On our off the grid summer camping trip we came across this culturally significant area - we were literally in the middle of nowhere! These are Indigenous culturally modified trees (CMTs), they are living trees that have been visibly altered or modified by Indigenous Peoples for usage in their cultural traditions. The cedar tree is traditionally known as the Tree of Life in Coast Salish culture, and is used in a multitude of ways. Once the bark is stripped, it can be used to carve masks, make clothing, weave baskets and hats, and even be used to make fishing line!

Celebrating World Reflexology Week September 21-27! DAY 3 The historical research study that started it all...the PMS Reflexology Research Studythanks Terry Oleson, Ph.D and Bill Flocco. The American Academy of Reflexology conducted the first reflexology research study to ever be published in scientific medical literature, when the study appeared in the prestigious journal, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Vol. 82, #6, December 1993. This ground-breaking study was reported around... the world, including in Journal Watch, which is published by the same people who publish the New England Journal of Medicine. Publishing of the study, and the wide spread reporting that followed in magazines, newspapers, numerous professional journals, as well as on radio, television, for the first time, gave Reflexologists around the world the ability to say, "Yes" when asked if there was any published scientific Reflexology Research validating that Reflexology works. http://www.reflexologyresearch.net/PMSResearchAbstract.shtml

Celebrating World Reflexology Week September 21-27! DAY 1 Today we kick off celebrating World Reflexology Week ... exactly a year ago I had the honour of speaking at the International Council of Reflexologists conference on the Business of Reflexology. It was the first time ICR had someone speak about the business aspect of reflexology which made it a double honour! I feel it’s critical for the growth and recognition of the industry that practitioners become proficient i...n the foundational skills of running a business, something that's not often provided in their basic training. In my Rippin Reflexology Essentials Practitioner’s newsletter I provide universal business strategies and tools to practitioners that are applicable, even now.
