Dear patients, friends, and family: Please visit www.saveeyecare.ca and sign the petition to help support eye care services in Ontario! For years, optometrists have struggled to sustainably provide OHIP covered services due to chronic underfunding by the government, and overhead costs have long surpassed the actual remuneration for each OHIP exam. With clinics only able to operate at half capacity due to COVID-19, Ontario optometrists have collectively reached their breaking ...point. Those caught in the middle of this and who rely on OHIP covered exams - are also our most vulnerable patients: kids, seniors, and persons suffering from ocular disease. We do not want to limit exams for these patients, but may be forced to on some occasions due to the above factors. Please know that this was not an easy decision to make and we would not be taking this action if we had other viable options, but you can help make a difference for these patients if you help sign this petition! Thank you for your understanding & for your support! - Dr. Peter Chan & Dr. Katherine Vuong

Hello to all of our patients, we hope you've been staying healthy over the past few months! All of our lives have been affected in one way or another, and we miss you dearly! We are still waiting on health officials to announce that we can open to see patients for routine exams again and have been preparing for our eventual (full) re-opening. You will see this in the form of:... - PPE (personal protective equipment) worn by all doctors and staff - stringent disinfection of all high contact areas - physical distancing protocols to keep all of our visitors, staff, and doctors safe - requirement for all visitors to wear masks/face coverings In the meantime, the services we are able to offer include: - virtual appointments for minor eye issues (examples include: eye irritation, allergy symptoms, dry eye symptoms, etc.) - urgent appointments for serious eye issues (examples include: acute pain, suspected infection, sudden loss of vision, new flashes or floaters, etc.) - eyewear appointments for no-obligation browsing and purchases You may reach us to book any of the above services by sending us an email, text, or leaving a voicemail. You can also request to be put on our waitlist for routine exams, and we will contact you as soon as we are able to see routine patients again. Lastly, we are excited to announce that we have revamped our online shop that now features our doctor-recommended contact lenses, deals on sunglasses, and ocular health products! Visit us here: https://www.canaryeyecare.com/shop Take care until we see you again and remember to spread only kindness! We are in this together! - Dr. Katherine Vuong & Dr. Peter Chan

We are still accepting urgent care requests by email and voicemail which will be triaged by our optometrists, to keep you out of the ER or walk-in clinic during this time when social distancing is key! #Repost @ontariooptometrists OAO president, Dr. Joshua Smith was interviewed on Libby Fights Back on Zoomer radio this week, and left listeners with some comforting words. ... To reduce possible spread of COVID-19 and to support social distancing, we will be following the recommendation of the College of Optometrists of Ontario and limiting our in-person services to urgent care only until March 30th. Please note, this is open to patients BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. Walk-ins will not be accepted. You'll still be able to reach our doctors for help and advice via email, text, and phone, all of which will be monitored regularly. Contact lens orders can still... be placed, please take advantage of our included free shipping for all orders of 6 month supply or more! This is an important measure to help fight this pandemic and we appreciate your understanding. See you again at our regular hours in April (hopefully)!

Canary Eye Care 18.01.2020

Hi friends! We're still open regular hours for now, but as efforts increase to flatten the curve and curb the spread of #COVID19 this could change, and we'll be cooperating with public health officials as we check in on a daily basis. In the meantime, you might find us 1) donning masks 2) obsessively washing our hands 3) increasing the frequency of common area disinfection 4) opting to greet you in more 'creative' ways 5) or rescheduling patients who have recently been travelling or feeling sick. Stay safe everyone! @ Toronto, Ontario
