Dr. Lucy Campbell is an Associate Professor of Applied Mathematics at Carleton University in Ottawa. Christopher Mahadeo's free interactive webinar for high school students participating in the Canadian Open Mathematics Challenge (COMC) or other math competitions will discuss strategies to help reduce stress and anxiety. These ideas will be applicable both inside and outside of the competition setting.

The Math Guru's seminar is in two days. Aimed at educators and caregivers, she will address certain unconscious biases among parents that teachers that keep students from underrepresented groups to develop their full math potential.

This webinar is taking place within the cadre of CMS’ Closing the Gap Initiative for Black and Indigenous Students . The free online and interactive webinar is designed to encourage students to think about mathematics through cultural practices and experiences that are rooted in Indigenous languages and knowledge systems.
