I finally was able to edit my last post about race dates. I've had to change them. They are on the Cara schedule: Sat. Sep 14-Ovals Sat. Sep 28-Straights Sorry for having to change dates. But late October usually is not conducive running weather.

We have our last 2019 dates for ORA chosen. They are up on the CARA website racing schedule. They will be Saturday September 14th for OVALS and Saturday September 28th for STRAIGHTS. We decided that weather at end of Oct is iffy and usually not good, so decided to use the open weekends in September for the last 2 dates.

Well I have to say that today's race meet went off without a hitch, and even though it was very hot we had a terrific breeds with I would actually called more like a strong wind... It kept us fairly comfortable and it was obvious that the dogs were not overheating at all. The Lepus whippets, we're running around having fun dousing themselves in the pond on and off on their way back from the finish line and having just a grand old time and not a single one of them was panting... in their crates when checked on later. It was a really nice day and lots of good company and funny stories shared, and good food and plenty of hydration (no not the alcoholic kind LOL). We were finished by 12:30 pm and really it did not get scorching-hot until closer to between 2 and 3 p.m. and by then we were pretty much cleaned up and gone from the field. Okay roll call is going to stay at 9 a.m. as per the schedule. If you all can try and get here as early as they can so if we have everybody here at 8:30 or quarter to 9 or whatever, we'll do roll call so that we can start as soon as we can but we will not start before everyone arrives... please do not be late and if you are delayed for any reason on the highway please message me.
