When there are so many causes worthy of attention, why the Lacombe Food Bank? As Halloween leads into Christmas we want to help fill up the shelves for winter. We want to help make sure people in our community have enough to eat! And as our kids grow, we love that it is a tangible way for them to SEE how they can make a difference. They can comprehend the difference of when we have crackers in our pantry vs when we don’t, so it helps explain to them at a young age the importa...nce of giving and community. . . Remember that 4th gift basket we hinted at? It found its way home today. With the help of caring friends and neighbors, we assembled a basket FULL of craft supplies - canvases, crayons, markers and treats! for the seniors living in long term care at the Lacombe Hospital and their rec department. They also had a special window parade for kids in costume to wave and show off their Halloween spirit and lift the spirits of the residents. It was a humbling and unique experience for us and our hearts are full to have been part of it.
