November’s Market Watch Low interest rates and low supply had average sale prices raise in regions across Ontario in November Durham + 24.7%... Toronto +7.6% Peterborough +14% York +12.3% Peel +15.6% Halton +19.7% Durham Region also saw an increase of almost 25% in transactions. The announcement of General Motors returning to Oshawa to reopen an assembly plant, is great news for Durham Region. Oshawa continues to be an ideal location for new home buyers with a variety of housing options. Buyers are also flocking east, where in Port Hope the average sale price increased by 54% and climbed over $600 000. Transactions in Peterborough were up 14% year over year but supply is low. The amount of new listings was down 11% from this time last year, creating multiple offer situations.

MARKET WATCH The Durham Region saw 1,377 residential transactions in October representing a 42 per cent increase from the same time last year. The average selling price in Durham Region reached $740,436 representing a 21 per cent increase from the same time last year. Market Update Housing statistics from August show record breaking numbers. Durham experienced 45 per cent increase of residential transactions in August The number of new listings increased on a year-over-year basis by 19 per cent reaching 1,839 new listings in August.... The average price in Durham Region reached $734,136 a 19.5 per cent increased compared to the same time last year. On a month-over-month basis the average price increased slightly by 3.5 per cent. Toronto average sale price remained steady from last month as inventory soared. New listings were up a whopping 98% from this time last year All property types in Toronto are still showing large increases in sale price from this same time in 2019. At just 14 days from list to firm sale in the Durham Region, the average days on market continues to drop from 16 in July, and 26 in August of 2019.
