Your everyday footwear play a huge part in the health of your feet! It's why I am often only in socks! What type of shoes do you wear for work? Are you able to eliminate wearing restrictive footwear in some areas of your life?

Sore feet? Like anything else on your body, they need work and space to move. I can help ease the pain but if you want it to stay away for good, you will have to invest in their rehabilitation away from ill fitting footwear and into healthy, strength training habits.

This is very important! As a manual therapist, I can only get you so far in your rehabilitation process. Assisting your body to overcome pain is my specialty. Your job is to keep that body healthy, happy and running well. A qualified athletic therapist or physiotherapist are fantastic resources on your journey.

Ligaments are usually loaded with specialised sensory organs such as ruffini endings that detect stretch. Like all connective tissues, ligaments have a toleranc...e. When the tolerance of a tissue is challenged excessively in a direction that may not be the tissue's preferred plane, the risk of injury can increase. This isn't to suggest that ligaments can't tolerate stresses in other planes of motion that aren't traditionally considered 'optimal' based off their structure. In fact it can be incredibly beneficial for the collagen fibers in ligaments to be challenged in as many different planes as possible - omnidirectional training. Something as simple as walking on uneven surfaces (sand, pebbles, dirt, grass, rocks etc...) goes a long way in maintaining a level conditioning at your ligaments - promoting adaptability. As always progressive strength and conditioning training is always advised for healthy, flexible and strong connective tissues Movement is medicine. Tom
