Something to brighten our day. I found this humorous! Missing seeing patients after being with baby Stella, and now with COVID I’m feeling even more lost. Let’s hope and pray this is all over soon!

Hi, As many of you may already know, because of COVID-19, there have been many changes in our health care system. Throughout constant communication between the Ontario College of Physiotherapists, and Canadian Association of Physiotherapy, it has been decided that all non emergency patient care be placed on hold until further notice. This is keeping in direction of Public Health Ontario as well. If you have an appointment scheduled in the near future, it will unfortunately ...be cancelled. I will personally cancel all bookings through April 19, 2020, and will wait for further direction. I will also close all online bookings until this point in time as well. If you have any concerns about your care, please feel free to contact me directly through email. As Physiotherapists we are taking this pandemic seriously and doing our best to strike a balance between patient care and helping to reduce the spread of the virus. Meanwhile, stay safe, be well and practice the lifestyle factors that maintain immune health (in a physically distanced way). I want to stress again that we can keep in touch. Please phone, email or follow my Facebook page. We don't want to leave anyone out, email me!! I WANT to hear from you as we all sort out how to negotiate these next weeks. We wish you the best during these extraordinary times. -- Carolyn Glatt, B.A Kin, MSc., B.PT Registered Physiotherapist (705) 984-1904 [email protected]

New ONF standards have been released on concussion management for health care providers; however, this year the ONF released an incredible handbook for families and and patients. It is a great resource for those living with a brain injury, and for those that are looking for more information! http://concussionsontario.org//concussion-information-for/

Musculoskeletal by Daniel Quinn: Chronic low back pain (LBP) is one of the most commonly seen medical conditions across the world. There is a variety of methods... to manage the condition: medication, electrotherapy, exercises and cognitive behavioral therapy. Exercise is widely accepted to be one of the most effective treatment choices for chronic non specific LBP. This article investigates whether one type of exercise intervention is more beneficial than another. - This article continues on our website. An important piece of information to Consider as a therapist. Manual therapy, soft tissue management and exercises should be our primary thought when providing rehabilitation to these types of patients.

Interesting take on cupping, especially considering the massive hype at the Olympics. I for one, am a huge fan, and notice significant results almost immediately. What are your thoughts? http://www.menshealth.com/health/what-is-cupping-therapy

Great News for athletes in Ontario!

I have such strong opinions about this article, and the evidence presented in it. There are such amazing stories of success and recovery, and patients that are dedicated to their improvements. Such a shame that persons in the medical community are presenting old outdated knowledge of "sit in a dark room and wait for recovery to spontaneously-if ever- happen" Shame on them
