Just finished a nice shoulder seam on this sweater. I had not left open stitches on the shoulder so making new stitches on the front and the back then linking them all along the seam .... now to work the neck. This is a Rowan pattern. #handknitsweater #carolynmbarnettdesigns #lamerino #knitting

Working on a cable sweater from the Rownan Classic Family book which I found out was from 2009 (I bought it from The Yarn Guy in March husband came into the shop and chose the book and sweater) and started it a month or so ago. I just could not make the 24 row cable pattern work, I emailed my knitting group to find out what I was missing. I’ve been knitting since I was seven and have cabled lots...I was even thinking the dementia was kicking in....hmmm. I also wrote to Rowan... to get some help...and I got this lovely response after they had done some digging...the cable graphic was printed upside down in the book!!!!!!! I always copy graphics to make them bigger and because they will be worn out by the time I finish the garment so with some scissors and tape I now have something I can work with! #handknitting #rowanyarns #carolynmbarnettdesigns #handknitsweater See more

I needed to get out my chunky machine to do some test swatches for a project so why not do it outside while the weather is nice. The fact that I exhausted myself going back and forth up and down my studio stairs to fetch different clamps, scissors etc is beside the point! I'll be doing it again today. There will be months in my studio when this lovely weather is gone.
