Matching supply and demand is becoming increasingly challenging for car carriers according to Drewry. Only 4 car carriers were ordered during the first half of 2019. In fact, slow recovery of PCTC market may play as an additional factor to drive freight rates higher in the next 2 years. https://worldmaritimenews.com//drewry-slow-car-carrier-r/

Given implementation of IMO 2020 Convention on low sulfur fuel content, merchants stand a solid risk of freight tariffs increase already in the end of 2019. Ro-Ro feeders alike UECC tend to support LNG newbuilding projects, others (e.g. Neptune Lines) stick to scrubber installations. All in all, competition within carriers tend to exacerbate: those with large capital investments into modernization will evidently winning the customer. Important question is a level of future freight tariff increase.

Connecting Caspian sea ports with the rest of the world is a focus of many 3PL carriers. Routes via Georgia, Baltic countries and Russia are a few to mention. Governmental efforts are undertaken by Black Sea states specifically in the last years. Cascadia offers solutions to Caspian ports (Aktau, Turkmenbashi and Baku) via Georgia for all type of wheeled goods from North America. https://www.portseurope.com/azerbaijan-georgia-romania-tur/

DYT would move large boats in Ro-Float ships. An amazing technology which will cost you a fortune. If you happen to move a motor boat overseas and it is under 30' size, think of booking a roll-trailer at CML service and see how we compete with container liners: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DsoY4yfQVkg

By integrating the most convenient Ro-Ro hub ports, CML successfully combines various liner services into a single-stop solution for all types of wheeled cargo, including automobiles of all kinds and motorboats on roll-trailers. If you export a boat with its own trailer from North America, we always promise highly compeitive pricing compared to various container services.

CML had successfully delivered 30 trucks from Turkey to Chittagong under a United Nations program in March-April 2019. As it often happens, Ro-Ro transportation remains in harsh competition with trivial conventional trampers. Not surprisingly, quality standards for ocean transportation are compromised when targeting a cheapest sea freight instead. Such example may not be explicit, but when things concern commercial trucks, it is where shippers would probably seek a benefit of... prioritizing low price versus safe transport. Cascadia Maritime Logistics secured a solution from Derince to Chittagong on board mv Boa Diamond with the purpose to meet customer's budget expectations while still retaining exceptional transit time and quality. Needless to say, Ro-Ro liners could have offered prices 30-35% in excess of what CML managed to fix for a challenging destination to Bangladesh. We don't normally recommend customers to stick to conventional vessels for delivery of wheeled cargoes across oceans, however we by all means help to handle risks when the customer insists on a tramp shipment.
