Winter Campers having a blast decorating Christmas cookies this afternoon

Stained Glass Christmas Cookies We were inspired by the beautiful stained glass at the churches we grew up attending to make these beautiful Stained Glass Christmas Cookies. Here’s the recipe so you can make them at home too! ... 1 cup butter, soft 1 cup sugar 1 tsp vanilla 2 eggs 1/4 tsp salt 3 cups flour Jolly Ranchers Hard Candy 1. Cream together butter and sugar. 2. Add vanilla and eggs and beat to combine. 3. Add salt to flour before adding both to the wet ingredients. 4. Mix until a dough is formed. 5. Line a baking tray with parchment paper (important). 6. Chill dough in fridge for 30 minutes before cutting into shapes with a cookie cutter. Place on the baking tray. Use a smaller cookie cutter of the same shape to cut out the centre of each cookie. 7. Add Jolly Ranchers (1 for small cookies, 2 for larger) to the centre of each cookie. 8. Bake at 350F for 10-15 minutes, or until the edges of the cookies begin to brown slightly. 9. Allow to cool completely before removing from tray- this will take at least 2 hours. 10. Optional- before baking, use a straw to poke a hole in each cookie to turn them into ornaments. ENJOY

We are offering a Fall PD Day Camp on Wednesday, November 18th! Campers will have the opportunity to spend the day outdoors, exploring our forest, hiking, playing games, doing crafts and more. Safety precautions related to Covid-19 will be put in place including mandatory masks for participants, frequent hand washing/sanitizing, physical distancing and small group numbers. The entirety of this program will take place outdoors. ... When: Wed. We had lots of fun exploring the forest at camp with our Nature Explorer Program this afternoon! We found not one but TWO yellow spotted salamanders!

This morning Victoria and Ally- two CSC staff alumni- embarked on a 42km trek (a marathon!!) along the Bruce Trail in support of Keep Cave Springs Running Virtual Race! The two of them alone have almost raised $2,000!!!! We are so grateful for the support of our community members and their determination to help keep our beloved camp running for years and years to come. Cheer them on in the comments below!!! ...
