We’re excited to announce that one of our community-based healthcare programs has been recognized in multiple categories of the Priority Health Innovation Challenge, led by the Canadian Foundation for Healthcare Improvement (CFHI). With so many caregivers experiencing emotional distress and uncertainty, Care for the Caregiver aims to support these individuals with mental wellness resources and regular check-ins with healthcare professionals, to ensure they feel heard, valued and connected. The program is designed for all essential family caregivers, whether they are caring for children, seniors, or any family member or friend. We’re grateful for the opportunity to showcase this program, and honoured to receive these innovation awards!

Diabetes increases the risk for many types of health complications, but the effects can be reduced with proper management and monitoring from caregivers. Today on #WorldDiabetesDay, we are celebrating our professional staff across the country who are helping people manage and cope with their diabetes. With many Canadians unable to say goodbye to their loved ones due to COVID-19 restrictions, many people have not had the chance to visit their families and have a proper funeral or celebration of life. We warmly invite everyone to the #SayingGoodbye Concert, hosted by the Canadian Hospice Palliative Care Association an online concert and a collective coming together to support Canadians who have lost loved ones during the pandemic. Join us on November 15th at 7pm for a heartfelt night of music to honour those who are experiencing grief in this time. Tanya, a #physiotherapist in BC, told us a memorable story she had about a client who came to visit her with intense shoulder pain. After helping her with stretches, exercises, and pain management, the client was able to regain movement and continue doing the things she loves. For Tanya, being able to see the smile on her clients’ faces after they recover is why she became a physiotherapist. Watch her story: https://youtu.be/vDW4NAuSEw4
