Forever homes wanted... check out these cuties! Role Call: Walter - a spunky 8 month old mix of all these medium sized. He had a rough start to life coming into care with a previously broken femur and a newly fractured pelvis (in three places). After some TLC and physio he is ready for his people! ... Doug - Our once beaten and bruised dog attack boy is healed up and working on his hair growth. He is a very energetic fun loving Lab/Shepherd mix. Copper - Copper was adopted originally from Metals litter and returned to care. He is a big boy who outgrew expectations, but he is fun, full of beans, and likes dog friends. He does well with consistency and a routine! His mom is a Staffy type mix and we assume there is some Shepherd mixes in there! MaiTai is the adorable sister brother duo who are about eight weeks old. They appear to be Husky/Border Collie type mixes with the sweetest faces in town! All bios will be posted on Facebook tomorrow (January 24, 2021) at 6:00pm, and applications will be accepted on the website at 7:00pm. Please remember early applications are automatically deleted!

Somehow in the chaos of December we didn’t share this absolutely amazing donation received from the Grade 1B class at Ecole Wascana Plains. Their teacher, Lisa Weichel, alongside her amazing students donated TWO heaping baskets of goodies for the dogs/pups, and the rescuers! (We may have dove into the human one before we were able to get a photo) The students also each made us a Christmas card and let me tell you... we had some big feelings. ... Thank you so much to these thoughtful kiddos and their wonderful teacher for thinking of us and our rescue pups over the holidays. December was a wild high month for intakes, so the food, toys, treats, blankets, collars, and leashes sure went far to make the new puppies feel safe, loved, and have full bellies for the holidays.

Available for adoption tomorrow, Thursday January 14, 2021! A real sweet trio of beautiful ladies Marmee (3ish years old) is the mom of the Little Women Litter, which includes Meg (9 months old). They have had a rough journey so far, and we are thrilled these two are finally ready for adoption. Marmee came in with some old quills, so she has had an on again off again time with quills migrating! Meg dodged the porcupine, and is a cuddler monster. These two Shepherd Mixes are... incredibly loving, and even more loyal. Deja is the mom of Nick and Norah. She is a two year old Staffy mix who loves kids, loves her foster mom, and enjoys getting out and about! She is a sweet tempered fun loving girl! Check back tomorrow (Thursday January 14) at 6:00pm for full details, applications will be accepted on the website at 7:00pm!

Cocoa Puffs (Cereal Pups) Gender: Female DOB: November 21, 2020... Breed: Lab/Collie Mix Kennel Training: I will take naps in my kennel if I have to. But I much prefer to stretch out in the puppy pen and use my sis as a pillow. I can usually sleep for 4-5 hours at night before I have to go out. House Training: As for potty training, foster mom says I get two thumbs up. I will let you know when I have to go, just watch for my signs, like whining or going to the door. Personality: HI! I'm Cocoa Puffs, but you can call me Cocoa. I am a fiesty little girl who LOVES to wrestle with my sister. I am very smart! I learned to sit, lay down, and am in the process of learning to play fetch, though I'm not sure why I have to give up the ball when I finally got it! I am a great eater, but I do prefer if you divide my daily food into 3 meals a day right now. When I was younger, I was a bit timid in new situations, but my confidence is growing every day. I am a tough little girl and when my foster cousin came over, she's a shepherd mix, I loved wrestling with her! I really like other dogs! I haven't been around any cats or kids, but I am pretty sure I will love kids. I sometimes get excited, forget my manners and nip a little too hard, so maybe supervise my play with any little ones. That's about it! I really, really love people and promise to be an amazing addition to your family! Medical Care: Round One vaccine, two rounds of dewormer, Nexguard Adoption Fee: $300.00 at the time of adoption; $100.00 can be returned or donated once fixed according to contract standards Medical Note: These puppies have had some issues with scratching/itching. They have been medically cleared but their skin is still on the end of healing so they are a bit flakey.

Rocket (Motorcycle Gang) Gender: Male DOB: September 23, 2020... Breed: Shepherd Mix Kennel Training: Rocket is getting comfortable in his kennel. He takes naps and eats his meals in his kennel to help him learn it’s a safe space. He kind of understands what kennel means but will need more training if he will be in his kennel for extended periods of time. House Training: Rocket has only had a few accidents indoors (mostly because he got distracted playing before he realized he needs to pee NOW). We have noticed he has started to whine and pace near the back door when he needs to go outside. We let him out everything 3-4 hours and he knows to go potty as soon as he is outside. He has woken up once a night to be let out quickly before cozying back up for a snooze. Personality: Rocket is an active and sociable guy. He is pretty independent. He needs some leash training because he hasn’t quite figured out what the heck that thing is for. His favourite pastime is roughhousing and playing. He loves soft toys, bones, balls, and playing tug. He’ll play with the other dogs, kids, and alone. He loves playing so much that he often leaves his food to play instead! Using his kibble as treats for training has helped him stay focused enough to finish eating in one sitting. He already knows how to sit, down, and shake a paw! Rocket is obsessed with our 1-year-old shepherd mix. They do everything together. He will likely need some time adjusting to being an only dog if his new family doesn’t have any other pets.
